Decanter (96)
Running from their gate by the Route Nationale to the same height as the Château de la Tour, the Grivots' vines are all in the lower half of the Clos. In hot years like 2017, humid soils can be an advantage, which appears to be the case for this stylish, poised, well-balanced grand cru bottling. The 30% oak is particularly subtle, framing the fresh, mineral-edged finish.HK$10,130.00 -
Vinous (93-95)
The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru showed just a little reduction on the nose, but that blows away with modest swirling to reveal blackberries, raspberry coulis, touches of melted tar and rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip. It displays a fine crescendo in the mouth, until it reaches the effervescent finish. A tang of blood orange and brown spice lingers on the aftertaste.HK$20,640.00 -

Vinous (95-97)
The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a deep color. The beautifully defined bouquet offers blackberry, raspberry, incense and crushed stone aromas, all incredibly detailed and precise. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, perfectly pitched acidity and a structured finish that delivers good grip and a touch of black pepper on the spicy aftertaste. Seriously fine.HK$6,730.00 -

Chunky black fruits, forest floor and savory spice pop onto the robust, slightly backward palate. Generous in extract, this is nicely held up with lightly sticky tannins and rather punchy acidity. Showing evident power, this just needs time to nurture and mature the ample structure and concentration. These vines are located at the bottom of the Clos near the domaine's gates looking onto the D974 road. 2025-42HK$34,270.00 -

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-96)
70% crop achieved, so perhaps the helicopter treatment worked. A deeper dense purple, with a serious concentration of fruit here. The advantage of the vines which were less ravaged. Then darker fruit, almost a chocolate nose, a little foursquare as per its terroir, small waves of darker fruit coming through behind, a dark plum for example, then an evenly balanced finish between fruit, tannin and acidity. Drink from 2030-2040.HK$32,220.00 -

Decanter (96)
Warm, lush, and tannic, this wine shows an intensely ripe, plummy fruit aroma with notes of smoke and spice and impressive depth and length. It is the best Clos Vougeot I can recall having from this domaine. The Grivot family has a large parcel (1.86 hectares) at the base of the slope, which is not a highly regarded position in the Clos. Mathilde, however, has made exemplary work of it here. The carefully sorted grapes were destemmed and gently punched down during the fermentation on native yeasts.HK$7,280.00 -
Vinous - Neal Martin (94-96)
The 2023 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a very succinct bouquet. It's one of the cuvées from Grivot with what feels like darker fruit than others. This is beautifully defined, with hints of sea cave/oyster shell and a dash of black pepper that manifests with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied and velvety smooth, with pliant tannins, moderate depth and orange rind, blood oranges and a hint of cardamom toward the finish. This is quite a complex Clos de Vougeot that should age with style.HK$2,945.00 -

(12x75cl) 2007Wine Spectator (93)
An expression of darker fruit¿blackberry, black cherry and black currant¿exudes from this seductive red, which has plenty of tannins, both from the grape and oak, so be patient. There's fine length, with sweetness and mineral. Best from 2014 through 2025. 90 cases imported. -BSHK$50,415.00 -
(1x75cl) 2008Wine Advocate (94)
The 2008 Echezeaux boasts incredible inner fragrance, the silkiest of tannins and exceptional polish. The wine graces the palate with weightless elegance in its gently spiced dark fruit. This sensual, dazzling Echezeaux is a jewel. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2033.HK$3,210.00 -
Wine Enthusiast (96)
This wine is very young, still with layers of wood. It is going to be a structured, dense and packed with a strong mineral texture. To contrast, generous red plum fruits and intense acidity are ready to convey a deep, rich character. Drink this impressive wine from 2019.HK$19,800.00 -
Wine Advocate (96)
Tasted blind, the 2015 Echézeaux Grand Cru also put in a superb performance, bursting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of dark wild berries, cola, orange rind, dried flowers and espresso. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, lavish and dramatic, with a broad attack, a deep and juicy core of fruit, satiny structuring tannins and a long, fragrant and already sapid finish. It's one of the finest renditions of Echézeaux to be found this year.HK$19,540.00 -
(1x75cl) 2017Decanter (95)
Yields were back up to normal here in 2017 after the frost-ravaged 2016 crop. This impressive Échézeaux, sourced from old vines in Les Rouges du Bas, is floral and appealing, with alluring texture, aromas of peony and rose petal, velvety tannins and a refreshing, chalk-tinged acidity. The slight reduction will disappear after racking.HK$3,585.00 -

The 2018 Echézeaux Grand Cru has an attractive nose of brambly red fruit, orange rind, sous-bois and a touch of wilted rose petal. The palate is medium-bodied with furry tannins, plenty of dusky red berry fruit with white pepper and sage. Fine weight, perhaps a little rustic towards the finish but it gains weight and coheres with aeration. Give this another couple of years in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.HK$7,195.00 -

Cask sample. Deep ruby; blood orange, small black fruits and zest on the nose. Consistency and affirmed style. A lasso of acidity and quite the measured tannic charge, as befits its status. Discreet for now, but evident depth and promise.HK$9,700.00 -
Burghound (93-95)
Riper aromas are comprised by notes of spiced plum, exotic tea, violet and a whiff of wood toast. There is again fine richness, volume and mid-palate density to the caressing but punchy and solidly powerful flavors that stain the mouth with sappy dry extract while delivering even better persistence on the balanced and built-to-age finale. An excellent Ech.HK$6,215.00 -

Vinous - Neal Martin (95-97)
The 2022 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a vivid, bright bouquet with perfumed, very floral red berry fruit and touches of white flowers filtering through with time in the glass. Quite classic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, slightly tarry black and red fruit, hints of black pepper and graphite towards a complex, engaging finish. SuperHK$9,700.00 -
Vinous - Neal Martin (95-97)
The 2023 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a crisp and mineral bouquet, with blackcurrant, wild strawberry fruit and a touch of chalk dust developing in the glass. This has superb delineation and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins. It's a tensile Echézeaux, surfeit with mineralité, leading to a cohesive and persistent finish that exudes class. This is one of the best wines you will find from the Grand Cru.HK$9,760.00 -

Vinous (92-94)
The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Aux Boudots comes across as weighty and substantial, especially after the Roncières. Black cherries, plums, graphite, menthol, flowers and deep, exotic spices meld together impressively in this totally striking wine. The Boudots boasts tremendous textural depth and intensity all the way through to the round, sensual finish. At times it comes across as very Vosne-like, hardly a surprise given that Boudots lies next to Malconsorts.HK$32,790.00 -

The 2011 Nuits St. Georges Aux Boudots seems to bring together elements of both preceding wines, namely the floral notes, red-toned fruit and silky tannins of the Pruliers, with the volume and richness of the Roncières. All the elements are beautifully balanced in this decidedly harmonious Nuits. Slight elements of greenness run through the fruit, but they are not dominant.HK$14,690.00
