(1x75cl) 2006Vinous (96+)
Good medium red. Highly nuanced, soil-driven aromas of strawberry, flinty minerality, roasted herbs and crushed rocks. Powerful and stunningly pure, with explosive fruit framed and complicated by pungent minerality and high notes of pepper and spice. This extremely primary wine boasts outstanding precision but is almost brutal today. The tannins reach the incisors on the extremely long and tactile finish.HK$67,390.00 -
(3x75cl) 2011Burghound (96)
Don't Miss! Mild reduction disguises the more subtle elements of the nose but there is plenty of earth character present on what appears to be ripe red berry aromas that lie beneath the funk. There is a highly seductive texture to the large-scaled, sleekly muscular, intense and massive flavors that again, despite all the sheer size and weight, manage to remain focused and betray absolutely no sense of heaviness. The breathtakingly long finish is quite saline with an almost pungent minerality that adds lift. Mostly wines would have been crushed coming after the Musigny but this more than held its own. This is flat out tremendous and entirely textbook.HK$194,650.00 -
Vinous (99)
There are so many captivating wines in this tasting, but the 2015 Clos de la Roche seems to just have a little something extra. Ethereal, delicate and nuanced, especially in this context of much richer wines, the Clos de la Roche makes its case more with persistence and nuance rather than pure power. The bright red stone fruit, mineral and floral notes are all sketched with crystalline precision in a hauntingly beautiful Burgundy that hits all the right notes. I can only hope I will have a chance to taste the 2015 when it has had a few years (or more) in bottle.HK$97,560.00 -
Decanter (98)
Medium-full colour. Just about mature. Rich, fresh, harmonious nose. Round and concentrated. Very good grip and class. Fullish body. Just about ready. Lots of vigour. Very lovely fruit. A lovely wine, very long on the palate.HK$746,850.00 -
(1x75cl) 1996Wine Advocate (95)
The saturated ruby/purple-colored 1996 Clos de Vougeot has profound red cherry, rose, raspberry, and cinnamon aromas. Its medium-to-full-bodied, satin-textured personality is highly structured and youthfully firm. This wine's flavor profile is composed of bright black raspberries, cherries, blackberries, and copious spices. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2012+.HK$46,385.00 -
Vinous (91-94)
Ruby-red. Sappy, sweet aromas of black cherry and licorice. Very backward and closed on the palate, even tough today, with major, tongue-dusting tannins. Currently dominated by its powerful structure, but the black fruit, herbal and mint flavors show superb sweetness. This may need a good decade of bottle aging.HK$25,095.00 -

The 2000 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru from Leroy, after having changed a corked bottle, has a fresh bouquet with blackberry, undergrowth, mint and a touch of clove. The palate is vibrant, a Clos Vougeot with a spring in its steps. It does not possess the depth or complexity of the finest Clos Vougeot that I have encountered from Leroy, but there is a beguiling transparency and an edgy, sappy finish that beckons you back for another sip. Fine, but not a bona fide success given expectations. Tasted at Carré des Feuillants restaurant in Paris.HK$36,905.00 -

(12x75cl) 2002Vinous (94+)
Dark red. Reticent nose hints at cherry and licorice. Intensely flavored and dense but austere and backward, dominated by its powerful structure. Hard to taste today, but extremely long on the back end, with noble, thoroughly ripe tannins.HK$597,095.00 -
(3x75cl) 2006Burghound (95)
This is quite ripe though not surmature, featuring a fresh array of distinctly earthy and ever so slightly rustic red and blue fruit aromas that are in perfect keeping with the robust, muscled and powerful full-bodied flavors underpinned by mouth coating tannins and superb concentration on the strikingly long finish. As impressive as this is, and it's very impressive, after the fireworks provided by the RSV and the Riche, it doesn't quite have the game to fully match up. Still, I hope to have the pleasure of trying a glass or two when it finally reaches full maturity.HK$155,745.00 -

The 2009 Clos Vougeout, on the other hand, impresses with its dazzling purity and elegance. This is possibly the most refined Clos Vougeot I have ever tasted. Sweet red berries, flowers and mint are some of the nuances that radiant from this exceptional wine. The tannins are firm yet beautifully integrated. Focus and length define the impeccable finish. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039.HK$41,475.00 -
(1x75cl) 2011Wine Advocate (94)
The 2011 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a sedate, refined bouquet or raspberry preserve, wild strawberry and a touch of wild hedgerow – airy and lifted. The palate is silky smooth on the entry. It is very harmonious and feminine with a succulent, sweet red currant and strawberry finish with just a tincture of vanilla. This is gorgeous and very seductive.HK$43,840.00 -
Vinous (95)
The 2014 Clos de Vougeot emerges from three parcels that span the upper, mid-slope and lower parts of this large vineyard. Dense and powerful, but also quite a bit less polished than the other Grand Crus, the Clos de Vougeot is nevertheless endowed with notable personality. A rush of dark red cherry, plum, smoke and savory herbs punctuates this wild, intense, but also deeply expressive Burgundy.HK$151,815.00 -

The Domaine Leroy 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a wine for the ages, opening in the glass with a classic bouquet of incense, smoky black fruits, red cherry and pencil shavings. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and firm at the core, with an ample chassis of fine-grained tannins, excellent concentration and a firm, structural finish. Of all the Domaine Leroy 2015s, this—along with the Clos de la Roche—will demand the most extended cellaring.HK$94,795.00 -

Full red-ruby. Very ripe, somewhat sauvage aromas of black cherry, plum, smoke, gunflint and minerals. Broad, layered and rich, with outstanding sweetness but also superb flavor definition and grip. A distinct step up in fullness, without any loss of vivacity. Finishes very ripe and very long, with the tannins buried by fruit.HK$242,170.00 -

Magnificent. The 2011 Corton-Renardes Grand Cru has a bewitching floral bouquet, perhaps not quite as complex as the Clos de la Roche but beautifully defined, perhaps haunting being the most appropriate word. The palate leans more toward a red fruit profile with succulent ripe tannins; gentle grip and a multi-layered, white pepper-tinged finish that revivifies the senses, leaving it tingling long after the wine has departed.HK$39,820.00 -
(1x75cl) 2015Vinous (95)
As is always the case, the Corton-Renardes is up first. A huge, explosive wine, the 2015 exudes strength, power and muscle. Swaths of tannin wrap around a core of black fruit. Hints of smoke, iron and incense add layers of nuance and overall complexity. Even so, the natural rusticity of Corton-Renardes comes through loud and clear.HK$96,995.00 -
Vinous (91-94)
Very deep ruby-red. Reticent blueberry and mineral nose offers an intriguing saltiness. Wonderfully intense, juicy and penetrating on the palate. Extremely unevolved and wrapped up in its own structure. With a bit less density and buffering extract, this comes across as harder today than the Clos de la Roche. This, too, will require extended cellaring.HK$17,160.00 -
Vinous (91-93)
Deep ruby. Pungent, pure aromas of crushed dark berries, black licorice, minerals and flowers. Thick, bright and showy, with superb intensity and sweetness of dark fruit flavor. But this powerfully structured wine is still quite youthfully unevolved.HK$25,095.00 -
(1x75cl) 2006Vinous (92)
Medium red. Deeply pitched aromas of black cherry, mocha, smoke and earth. Fat on entry, then very ripe, concentrated and full, but with harmonious acidity giving lift to the saline, earth and mineral flavors. The substantial dusty tannins arrive late, but this very young wine is still hiding more than it's showing.HK$113,725.00 -
HK$115,415.00 -
(2x75cl) 1998Vinous (93-95)
Full ruby. Great soil-inflected nose combines spicy black fruits, licorice, iron and earth. Sharply delineated and stylish, with juicy, racy red berry flavors, powerful but fine tannins and superb persistence. Classic and powerfully structured. Offers considerably less volume than the '98 Leroy Clos de la Roche but conveys equally distinctive terroir character.HK$62,635.00 -
Vinous (93-96)
Deep, saturated ruby. Explosive nose features blackberry, blood orange, minerals and violet. An extremely intense, minerally wine of great clarity and class. Powerfully structured and still an infant. Finishes with big but suave tannins and great subtle persistence.HK$393,755.00 -
Vinous (95+)
Deep, sappy aromas of plum, currant, minerals and smoke, with a compelling earthy complexity. Thick on entry, then youthfully backward and vibrant in the middle palate. A seamless wine that remains light on its feet despite its compelling density and major volume. Finishes with sweet tannins, a note of spicy oak and outstanding persistence.HK$508,690.00 -
Vinous (94+)
Bright, deep red. Musky, slightly reduced aromas of raspberry and minerals. Offers a compellingly silky texture and lovely sweetness but comes across as youthfully closed today, even a bit reduced. But this boasts superb concentration and purity of flavor and a very long, harmonious finish. I'd give this a good eight to ten years in the cellar.HK$494,630.00 -
(1x75cl) 2008Vinous (96+)
Good deep red. Sensational if youthfully subdued nose combines black raspberry, crushed stone, dried flowers, smoky minerality and truffley soil tones. Wonderfully precise and taut in the mouth, with uncanny cut and energy to the dark berry, spice and mineral flavors. Finishes with outstanding backbone and palate-staining perfume. The 2008 vintage doesn't get better than this.HK$741,320.00 -
Decanter (98)
Still very, very closed. Fat, rich and concentrated on the nose. Very lovely, balanced, fragrant fruit. This is very complex and the finish is excellent.HK$1,904,560.00
