    Jeb Dunnuck (97)

A jeweled ruby/red hue, the 2022 Pinot Noir The Plow is an exceptional wine all around and its name pays tribute to all of those who work in the vineyard for the estate. In the glass, it reveals a spiced and complex nose with aromas of black cherries, anise, sappy forest herbs, fresh leather, and crushed flowers. • Lisini Brunello di Montalcino 2007 (1x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (94)

The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is very beautiful in this vintage. Sweet dark cherries, flowers, mint and licorice take shape as the wine opens up in the glass. This is an especially voluminous wine endowed with tons of richness and nuance. A finessed, seamless finish laced with sweet hints of tobacco and wild flowers rounds things out in style. This is a terrific showing. Lisini gave the Brunello three years in cask. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2027.
  • Lisini Brunello di Montalcino 2010 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (95+)

One of the stand outs of the vintage, Lisini's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino fleshes out in all directions with gorgeous, expansive richness. The flavors are dark, bold and incisive, yet backed up by notable freshness. A crescendo of incredibly pure dark red and black stone fruits builds on the huge finish. • Lisini Brunello di Montalcino 2018 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (92)

Like a kid in a candy store, taking in the confectionary spices, medicinal cherry, blueberry compote and licorice aromas of the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino is a total pleasure. While silky and elegant, this is also racy and with depths of character, as red and black berries are complicated by notes of cinnamon, clove and a bitter dusting of cocoa. The 2018 finishes potent and long, but only lightly structured, begging for some cellaring, but also placing all of its goods on display. Nearly a minute goes by, and nuances of violette pastille and hard red candies still echo throughout.

    Wine Advocate (93)

The Lisini 2020 Brunello di Montalcino shows a light and charming personality, marked by plump cherry fruit and touches of blackcurrant. Lisini's 2008 Brunello di Montalcino Ugolaia hits the palate with huge dark fruit, incense, tobacco, smoke, grilled herbs, licorice and game. Ample and structured on the palate, the 2008 is a wine for the cellar. Today, the tannins are imposing, but there is plenty to look forward to. Dried rose petals, game, incense, orange peel and white pepper are some of the notes that are laced into the expressive finish. Stylistically, the 2008 is likely to always be burly and a bit round around the edges, but its beauty is undeniable.

This is nearly velvety in feel, with a dense wave of tart wild berries complicated by hints of sour citrus and balsamic spice. Plum and licorice nuances linger on, as the 2017 finishes structured, yet not severely so, leaving hints of mocha and red currants. The Ugolaia is another example of the success that Lisini had in this difficult vintage. That said, it will require a number of years to come fully into focus.
