Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-94)
A fresh raspberry strawberry nose after one of the lighter colours. Much broader on the palate with an impressive density here, strawberry and cherry, evenly balanced with finesse as well. All is there in quite a refined style. Drink from 2030-2036. Tasted: November 2023.HK$2,935.00 -
Burghound (90-93)
(from 35+ year old vines). Here too the expressive red cherry and raspberry-suffused nose is perfumed and even spicier. The sleek, vibrant and more refined middle weight flavors exude evident minerality on the slightly more vibrant finish where a touch of bitter pit fruit character slowly emerges. This is lovely and understated.HK$1,045.00 -

Wine Advocate (88-90)
The 2014 Volnay 1Er Cru les Brouillards has a mixture of red and black fruit, wilted violets developing in the glass, quite refined and yet gaining intensity all the time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit. There is a touch of rusticity here, a little ferrous towards the finish, although it has commendable substance and length.HK$3,530.00 -
Vinous (91-93)
Dark red-ruby. Complex, dark nose melds blackberry, black raspberry, minerals, licorice, spices, mint and violet; reminded me a bit of a very fresh Cabernet Franc! At once dense and juicy, offering subtle soil tones and excellent purity and cut. This very fine-grained, dry wine finishes vibrant and alive.HK$6,850.00 -

The 2017 Volnay Les Brouillards 1er Cru offers lifted, tertiary red berry fruit that develops a subtle mintiness with time. The palate is well balanced, though not complex, and quite blocky at the moment, although there is decent weight on the finish.HK$9,155.00 -

The 2018 Volnay Les Brouillards 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet of raspberry preserve, crushed strawberry and cranberry aromas that are neatly entwined with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins. A big-boned Volnay, quite spicy in the mouth, with black pepper and graphite notes toward the grippy finish. This has good long-term potential.HK$3,530.00 -
Vinous (91-93)
The 2019 Volnay Les Brouillards 1er Cru immediately hits a level up from Les Angles, offering scents of vibrant red berry fruit, sous-bois and a hint of morels, all delineated and focused. There is much more brightness and energy on the palate of black plum, raspberry and allspice, leading to a nicely structured, quite peppery finish that lingers in the mouth. Excellent.HK$895.00 -
Vinous (90-92)
The 2020 Volnay Les Brouillards 1er Cru has a very perfumed bouquet with violet-tinged dark cherry and boysenberry fruit, expanding nicely in the glass with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite lithe and smooth in the mouth with a touch of white pepper on the finish. Give this three or four years in bottle just to coalesce.HK$1,000.00 -
Vinous (90-92)
The 2021 Volnay Les Brouillards 1er Cru, which according to Clément Boillot, is picked a little later these days. It displays one of the Domaine's most attractive bouquets with quite vivacious dark cherry and crushed strawberry fruit, more concentration than its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, a little brittle in texture but fine tension. What is lacks in length it compensates with vigour. Worth seeking out.HK$820.00 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-93)
Not especially deep in colour, but the nose is rather fine, the elegance of Volnay, less demonstrative on the palate, with medium intensity of the strawberry, cherry fruit. Fair length. A wine of finesse rather than power. Drink from 2030-2036. Tasted: November 2023.HK$1,045.00 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-92)
Deeper in colour than Les Angles and with a noticeably riper nose, along with a little more oak. Darker berries here, a slightly greater volume of fruit, with length, offering an additional degree of succulence. Drink from 2030-2035. Tasted Nov 2024.HK$1,045.00 -

Desvignes's 2018 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières is superb, bursting from the glass with a captivating bouquet of violets, raspberries, dark chocolate and smoky blackberries. On the palate, it's full-bodied, velvety and layered, with a deep and multidimensional core, succulent acids and powdery tannins. Beautifully balanced and structurally refined despite its power and concentration, this is worth a special effort to seek out.HK$2,905.00 -
Wine Advocate (94+)
The 2020 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières is brilliant, unwinding in the glass with aromas of wild berries, spices, rose petals, loamy soil and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with impressive reserves of ripe tannin and sapid fruit, it's seamless and lively, concluding with a long, resonant finish. As ever, this is built to age, and it will reward patience, even if its youthful charms are considerable.HK$1,635.00 -
Vinous (95)
The 2022 Morgon Aux Pierres Javernières comes from a métayage since the 2020 vintage from vines planted in 1931. It has a very complex, mineral-driven bouquet with dark cherries, tea leaves and crushed stone, floral scents emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. This is very pure in style, beautifully balanced with a satin-textured finish that is one of the most caressing you will find this vintage. Outstanding.HK$5,315.00 -
Wine Enthusiast (93)
This vineyard abuts Pommard and it shares some of the structural intensity of that appellation. Powerful tannins contrast with opulent black fruits that shine through and will develop well. Drink from 2024.HK$2,070.00 -
Vinous (86-88)
The 2017 Beaune Boucherottes 1er Cru demonstrated quite a heavy reduction on the nose, making it difficult to read. The lightly spiced palate is promising, displaying fleshy ripe red berry fruit and a rather foursquare, straitlaced finish. It’s just a bit... chunky?HK$4,000.00 -
(6x75cl) 2018Vinous (88-90)
The 2018 Beaune Boucherottes 1er Cru fights off a bit of reduction on the nose to reveal a mélange of red and black fruit, oyster shell and lavender aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with confit-like black fruit, fine acidity. Sweet and tinged with fig and cassis toward the seductive if rather simplistic finish. Just an enjoyable Beaune Premier Cru.HK$2,460.00 -
(3x150cl) 2007Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (88-91)
Good medium red. Roasted cherry, smoke, chocolate, leather and earth on the nose and palate. Sweet, dense and rich, with very good stuffing, but not yet harmonious for all its soil character. Lardiere is unlikely to bottle this before April.HK$2,640.00 -
(6x150cl) 2013Wine Advocate (90-92)
The 2013 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Ursules has the most mineral-driven bouquet of Jadot's six Beaune premier crus, with impressive delineation and terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, chalky tannins and a silver thread of acidity interwoven through the dark cherry, iodine, cassis and red currant notes. The finish is structured and exerts a gentle grip, but the persistence is tangible, suggesting that this Clos des Ursules has a long future ahead.HK$4,890.00 -
(3x150cl) 2020Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-94)
Solid deep crimson purple. Magnificent deep rich imperial purple and feels much the same way on the nose. The fruit profile is a fraction darker than the estimable Boucherottes and perhaps with even more intensity, less heart on the sleeve, more wait for me in twenty years’ time. Tasted: November 2021HK$3,605.00 -

Bright mid crimson. There is additional density here on the palate, noticeable in the front of the mouth but continuing through to the well-integrated tannins behind. The bouquet will need to follow in due course, which it will to confirm another fine Clos des Ursules. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted: October 2022HK$3,540.00
