A stellar wine, the 2016 Barbaresco Roncaglie is pretty, delicate and understated to the core. Rose petal, sweet spice, tobacco, mint, anise and sweet red cherry all grace this translucent, super-expressive Barbaresco from Poderi Colla. A Barbaresco of understatement and class, the 2016 is light on its feet, persistent and finely sculpted. Time in the glass brings out the wine's inner sweetness and perfume, but the 2016 also needs time in bottle to be at its best. This is such a gorgeous wine.HK$970.00 -

The Real Review (96)
(Top Rank) Pale ruby tending to garnet. A heady bouquet redolent of rose petals, red cherry and sour plum, cinnamon and warm earth, all underscored by the toastiness of high-quality oak. To taste, the wine is rounded and finely textural, sweet fruit flavours discreet and wrapped in threads of firm tannins, supple of body with an impressively lingering finish. A lovely wine of poise and balance, it is perfectly approachable now but also has very fine ageing potential.HK$1,900.00 -

Tasted alongside the 2022, the 2021 Barbaresco Roncaglie pours a deeper ruby shade while remaining transparent and layered with aromas of fresh red cherries, bright spice, floral perfume, and orange zest. Medium-bodied, it has a more chiseled structure while retaining the estate’s signature finesse. It should show its best over the coming 15 years. Drink 2026-2040.HK$2,260.00 -

The 2012 Barolo Bussia Dardi Le Rose is another fabulous wine from Poderi Colla. Deep, layered and quite giving at the moment, the 2012 has more than enough depth to drink well for many years to come. It is perhaps not as pedigreed as the 2013 tasted alongside it, but it is very, very close. In fact, this is one of the highlights of the vintage.HK$2,045.00 -

Colla's 2013 Barolo Bussia Dardi Le Rose is a knock-out. Intensely sweet and perfumed, the 2013 reminds me of some of the most profound Barolos and Barbarescos I have tasted. Ripe red cherry, pipe tobacco, mint, dried rose petal, orange peel and anise are some of the endless nuances that seem to develop in the glass. The 2013 is a wine of depth, pedigree and class. It should provide thrilling drinking for a number of years. This is a regal wine in every way. Don't miss it.HK$2,205.00 -

The 2015 Barolo Bussia Dardi Le Rose is one of the most intriguing wines of the vintage. Sweet tobacco, cedar, dried cherry, mint and licorice give the wine an attractive openness at first, but that turns out to be deceptive, as the 2015 is much tighter on the palate. More than anything else, I am impressed by the wine's phenomenal length. I imagine the 2015 will always retain a slightly mature character in its aromas and flavors, but it also has the structure to develop beautifully in bottle for many years to come. This is an especially powerful edition of the Dardi Le Rose. I loved it.HK$915.00 -

The 2016 Barolo Bussia Dardi Le Rose is just as gorgeous as it always has been. Dark and translucent, the 2016 possesses striking layers of complexity. Spice, menthol, leather, sage and tobacco lend compelling nuance throughout. Although the 2016 is fabulous, it has also started to close down in bottle to a greater degree than I original envisaged. I wouldn't be in any rush to open it.HK$1,800.00 -

The 2017 Barolo Bussia Dardi Le Rose is superb. Classy and poised, the 2017 captures all the personality of Bussia. The Colla Barolos typically need a few years to shine. I imagine that will be the case here as well. As attractive as the 2017 is today, the best is yet to come. Crushed flowers, spice, sweet pipe tobacco and incense lend considerable nuance to a core of sweet Nebbiolo fruit. What a pretty wine this is.HK$2,335.00 -

The 2021 Barolo Bussia Dardi Le Rose pours a jeweled ruby color and stands out as a fantastic wine in the range from Poderi Colla. The estate was among the first to bottle single-vineyard Barolo, and when the family estates separated, they retained the Dardi site. Aromas of crushed raspberries, sweet herbs, pressed flowers, and orange rind emerge from the glass. Medium-bodied, it saturates the palate yet remains light on its feet, with chalky tannins and notes of dusty earth that carry through the finish. Drink 2026-2040.HK$2,390.00 -

Coming from Verduno, the 2020 Barolo Monvigliero is a bright red/ruby color and offers an expressive, rosy perfume of cranberries, dusty earth, and delicate spices. Medium-bodied, it’s very elegant and graceful on the palate’ with fine tannins, clean, evenly balanced acidity, and a nicely tapered finish. It’s quite appealing now but should have a solid 6-8 years ahead of it.HK$2,915.00 -

The grapes, grown in the sandy soil of Roero, undergo attentive manual harvest to ensure they're picked at peak ripeness. (6x75cl) 2012The Poderi Moretti Roero Pulciano Riserva 2012 is a distinguished expression of Italy's Piemonte region. Produced by the esteemed Moretti family, hailing from generations of winemakers since 1630, this ruby-red Nebbiolo reveals the utmost care in cultivation and a keen respect for ancient wine-making traditions. Grapes from 50-year-old vines, manicured meticulously through green harvesting, contribute to limited yields, ensuring higher quality vintages. Aged for 30 months in oak barrels and a further year in its bottle, this Riserva exudes elegant complexities. The 2019 Poesia is one of the finest wines I have ever tasted from Hélène and Patrice Lévêque. Rich and sumptuous, Poesia marries intensity with vibrancy in grand style. Poesia is a big, explosive Saint-Émilion, but it also possesses tremendous energy. Dark fruit, gravel, incense, spice and saddle leather open with a bit of coaxing. There is an exotic quality to Poesia in 2019 that is especially alluring. Brilliant.HK$3,720.00 -
