Prieuré-Lichine (Margaux; 65% Cabernet Sauvignon; 30% Merlot; 5% Petit Verdot; 13% alcohol; a final yield of 36 hl/ha; tasted at the UGCB press tasting). Once again, this is very archetypally Margaux. Rose petals and dried rose petals, dried herbs and a touch of violet too. Fresh, bright, crunchy red and darker berry fruit; a little blackcurrant leaf too; and just a hint of fresh tobacco leaf. Very expressive aromatically and very refined on the entry and through the dense and compact (for the vintage) mid-palate; sinuous and quite crystalline. Very sapid and juicy, this is excitingly fresh with a lovely sense of balance on the long finish.HK$2,050.00 -

The 2023 Prieuré-Lichine is seriously impressive. Rich and layered in the glass, the 2023 possesses notable textural richness and elegance. Dark-toned fruit, spice, new leather and licorice flesh out over time. This is an especially rich vintage for Prieuré-Lichine, but it's a style that works so well here. The 2023 impresses with its total sense of balance and harmony.HK$1,450.00 -

(6x75cl) 2017Savour the elegant and aromatic complexity of Produttori Carema Carema Etichetta Bianca 2017. This exquisite wine is cultivated in the harsh terrain of Carema, a region of Piedmont, soaked in Alpine sunlight and vented by cool billows. Birthed in a vineyard where vines cling tenaciously to the rocky slopes, these noble grapes mature amid a unique blend of iron-rich soils and temperature oscillations. This careful maturation results in a wine of significant depth and finesse.
Produced by Produttori Carema, renowned cultivators since 1960, this exclusive yield is limited due to the challenging winemaking conditions. Employing traditional practices that commanded admiration for centuries, the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak casks, ushering a refined evolution of flavour and structure. The 2017 vintage ultimately yields a harmonious symphony of wild berries, earthy undertones, and structured tannins, held together by a distinguishing mineral note. Acclaimed as an excellent expression of Nebbiolo, Produttori Carema Carema Etichetta Bianca 2017 is a testament to craftsmanship and terroir.

(12x75cl) 2008Wine Advocate (91+)
The Produttori’s 2008 Barbaresco is simply fabulous. A sweet bouquet melds into expressive fruit in a Barbaresco that is exceptionally polished and refined. The 2008 boasts striking sweetness and inner perfume to match its understated, elegant personality. Quite frankly, the 2008 is very hard to resist today, as the tannins are quite polished. Unusually sweet, silky and refined, the 2008 will take the better part of a decade to show the full breadth of its pedigree. At $37, it is one of the very finest values in ageworthy wine from anywhere in the world. This is a magnificent showing from the Produttori and a great introduction to the 2008 harvest at this historic house. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038.HK$5,905.00 -
(1x300cl) 2010Wine Advocate (93+)
The 2010 Barabresco opens to beautiful aromas of forest floor, white truffle and cola. All the fruit from Produttori del Barbaresco's single-vineyard wines are packed into this one base Barbaresco. The wine is sharp and focused and, although it does not have the soft generosity of 2009 or 2011, this is a wine of enormous elegance. I did not find the mouthfeel to be exceedingly thin. In fact, I noted the persistence, freshness and liveliness of the finish.HK$1,820.00 -
(1x300cl) 2013Vinous (90)
The 2013 is a tasty, easygoing Barbaresco to drink over the next decade or more. There is good depth in the glass, with pretty notes of tobacco, licorice, herb and worn-in leather that add nuance. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate and a closing burst of acidity meld into the finish. The tannins are present, but they are also pretty much buried by the creaminess of the fruit. A lovely impeccably balanced, understated wine that offers considerable regional and varietal expression. In other words: textbook. The Produttori's Barbaresco has a track record of aging well, but the 2013 is also surprisingly accessible. It should drink well with minimal cellaring. L 16 097HK$1,760.00
