(6x75cl) 2023Vinous - Neal Martin (90)
The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Village is a blend of three parcels (Les Chaumes, Lombardes and Charrières) and sees 15% aged in clay jars to gain freshness. It has a vibrant nose and fine mineralité, with a touch of orange zest and grapefruit developing in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a keen line of acidity and a twist of orange rind on the finish. Not long, but I appreciate the vigor and attack of this Chassagne Village.HK$3,665.00 -

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-93)
More yellow in the colour, a waxy flesh, slight evolution in the sample, I cannot quite see the stones up front. They do appear on the palate and the wine extends very well through to a flinty finish, with some saline notes right at the back. Drink from 2028-2034. Tasted Nov 2024.HK$5,535.00 -

Pale lemon yellow. One of the very ripe exotic noses, a little touch of peach and mango, but it then refines to offer more precision, enough of the steely backbone of true Pucelles. Finishes in fine style, by way of these more exotic notes which may become less evident as the core fruit develops. Drink from 2028-2035. Tasted Nov 2024.HK$11,095.00 -
As connoisseurs of fine wines, we celebrate the Morgassi Superiore Tuffo Gavi del Comune di Gavi 2013, a stellar example of exquisite Italian winemaking. Produced by the renowned Morgassi Superiore establishment, this wine emerges from vineyards in Piedmont - an Italian heartland recognised for its superior viticulture. This 2013 vintage boasts 100% Cortese grapes, handpicked and meticulously fermented for a month under controlled temperatures in steel vats for pure expression of its distinction.
Revered for its complex flavour profile and elegant minerality, the Morgassi Superiore Tuffo Gavi is abundant in luscious notes of fresh pear, almond, and citric undertones. Its full-bodied composition is balanced by a crisp acidity that carries its harmonious flavours towards a lingering finish. Aged for six months on lees and a month in the bottle, this white wine radiates brilliance. A fervent testament to the skilful prowess of Morgassi Superiore winemakers, the Tuffo Gavi del Comune di Gavi 2013 is truly a joy to savour.

The 2022 Chardonnay X Omni Vineyard is a bright yellow hue, and its nose is fantastic and has a lot to offer, with notes of white pepper, sweet smoke, jasmine, salted lime, and white peach. Mid-weight and focused, it’s finessed all the way through and is weightless and mouthwatering. It is consistently one of my favorite wines in the range, and the 2022 is no exception. It's incredibly tasty now, but I recommend stashing this away and hiding it (from myself) for a few years. Drink 2025-2037.HK$7,465.00 -

The Blaufränkisch Burgenland 2020 Lutzmannsburg Alte Reben comes from the oldest vines in Lutzmannsburg, which includes not only the three crus that had been singled out in 2019 but also other crus here that are too small to market them separately. This wine delivers all the ripeness, fruit intensity and concentration that Moric has been known for for almost 20 years. The wine is less precise or transparent compared to the crus, but it's dense and complex on the nose (and palate), which is ethereal and spicy and immediately begs for a decanter. Here, the wine is rich, textured and elegant, unfolding its greatness only on the finish that leaves the concentration and power of the first palate for purity, mineral freshness and endless salinity. Tannins, acidity and phenolics as well as body and concentration are in great balance here, yet at this early stage, the wine needs a lot of space and time to breathe and reveal its secrets step by step. This is definitely a wine to cellar for years, just like Clos Nouveau Bourgueil from Gauthier. That means this old-vines Lutzmannsburger may reach an even greater drinking experience in 10 years. I wouldn't miss it. 13.5% stated alcohol. Tasted in Lech in December 2022.HK$1,075.00 -

Moric Lutzmannsburg Ried Kirchberg 2020 exemplifies the pinnacle of Burgenland viticulture. Crafted from meticulously selected Grüner Veltliner and Blaufränkisch grapes, this exquisite wine benefits from the unique terroir of the Kirchberg region. Under the expert stewardship of Moric, renowned for their commitment to sustainable practices, the grapes are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and undergo a precise cold fermentation process to preserve their vibrant character. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for twelve months, imparting subtle complexity without overshadowing its inherent elegance. On the palate, Moric Lutzmannsburg Ried Kirchberg 2020 reveals layers of ripe orchard fruits, balanced acidity, and a lingering, refined finish.
