Vinous (92)
The 2018 Chinon Clos du Chene Vert, Monopole is one of the top wines from Joguet, offering pure black fruit and even some mint chocolate aromas, in addition to the telltale signs of classy oak use evident in its rich, rounded vanilla notes. In the mouth, you can expect a fuller-bodied style of Cabernet Franc that never becomes heavy or lush. It retains its freshness on the finish, reminding you that we might be in a hot vintage in the Loire, but we're still in the Loire. Fine, sand-like tannins sit in the mouth while the oak-derived vanillins and dark fruit linger on the long, sinewy finish.HK$2,100.00 -

The 2019 Chinon Clos du Chene Vert, Monopole has a nose that you sniff and just want to get deeper into the wine, as if you're at the top of a 10-meter diving board (ha! like I've ever been at the top of a 10-meter diving board. No, thank you!) and you're being dragged into the depths of the pool below. It's dark and mysterious and intense at this early stage, but not quite ready to reveal itself. Work at it and there are the vanillins of oak barrel aging alongside dark, spiced black cherries. There's a reassuring sense of weight and balance, and a satisfying textural coating of fine, cocoa-like tannins, while the acidity gives the impression that this is a wine that knows what it is and where it's going. And it's going long and it's going far.HK$845.00 -

Vinous (92)
Fresh cherry and lime garlanded in lily and laced with basil, mint and wintergreen inform a perfumed nose and a lusciously juicy, polished, buoyant, coolingly herbal palate. Freshness and vivacity are the watchwords for a refreshingly lingering, multifaceted finish underlain by wet stone and supportively but only subtly kissed with sweetness. Given 9 percent alcohol, one can be sure that the residual sugar is at a modest levels, yet there is all of the levity one could wish for from a Kabinett.HK$3,640.00 -
Vinous (91)
Behind some fermentative notes on the nose come Bernkastel-typical scents of mint-tinged lime and fresh dark cherry that set the theme for a delicate, polished, juicy palate performance. This finishes with lift and refreshment, its sweetness supportive but not at all blatant, and with subtle wet stone underpinnings perceived with watercolor-like transparency through a wash of fruit flavors.HK$1,365.00 -

The 2021 Bernkasteler Badstube Kabinett offers a clear, bright and coolish, intense and mineral nose with notes of crushed stones and lime and lemon zest. Lush and saline on the palate, this is a very elegant, fresh and juicy Kabinett with well-integrated acidity and beautiful purity on the finish. 8% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2023.HK$1,085.00 -

This is another Prüm 2016 seductively loaded with floral perfume, but here it’s bittersweet, suggesting gentian and iris as well as honeysuckle. The palate and superbly sustained finish deliver delicacy allied to silken richness and gloss, featuring intense pear, pineapple, quince and almond paste flavors together with striking transparency to stony and maritime mineral nuances.HK$830.00 -

The 2019 Graacher Himmelreich Auslese is clear, fresh and spicy on the deep, concentrated, very fine and flinty as well as vegetal and floral nose. Round and intense on the palate, this is a complex, tight and sustainably salty and refreshing Auslese in the digestible, food-friendly style. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.HK$2,000.00 -
Wine Advocate (96)
The 2020 Graacher Himmelreich Auslese is discreet and remarkably coolish on the dense and lemon-scented nose compared to Zeltingen and Bernkastel. White peach and nectarine aromas intertwined with coolish broken slate aromas make this a savory and irresistible Auslese, even though, or exactly because of it, this is so discreet and only subversively erotic on the nose. The palate then reveals stunning lightness and finesse based on a filigreed structure and highly refined and zesty acidity. This is almost weightless, but it has a sweet core that materializes the fruit, whereas in the transcendental Zeltinger Sonnenuhr, it's more of an idea. 7% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 19 21 in July 2022.HK$2,760.00 -

The 2023 Graacher Himmelreich Auslese (Long Gold Capsule / Auction) is deep, refined and intense on the nose that reveals tropical fruit aromas along with delicate spice notes. Intense yet refined and savory on the palate, this is a rich and intense, very generous and long, savory and lemony Auslese with crunchy grip and remarkable mineral and tension-giving acidity. 8% stated alcohol. Natural cork.HK$1,820.00 -
Wine Advocate - Robert Parker (96)
The Prum (non-auction cuvee of) 2008 Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese gold capsule A.P. #13 bursts from the glass with a Chartreuse-like amalgam of herbal and floral distillates and hints of smoke, as well as suggestions of brown-spiced apple, quince, and white peach preserves that then lushly saturate the palate. Candied lemon and grapefruit rind, licorice, and white raisin add further complexity, and it is remarkable the extent to which one gives no thought to either the wine’s sweetness or its leavening acidity as such. Seamlessly rich, it seems to levitate over into its long finish, pulling out an amazing burst of sheer refreshment. I would anticipate this being well worth following for four decades. Late botrytis caught the fruit of the Himmelreich at an optimal stage, whereas by that point – explains Manfred Prum – fruit in the Wehlener Sonnenuhr was already too ripe and its skins too precarious.HK$8,375.00 -

This non-auction gold-capsule bottling delivers a multifaceted nose featuring candied lime peel, apple and quince jellies, heliotrope and an intriguing meld of yeasty stale bread, florally honeyed and subtly truffly manifestations of botrytis. The creamy, expansive palate reprises all of the aforementioned elements, but also introduces generous parallel juiciness of fresh apple and lime. Displaying wonderful lift and delicacy, the lusciously lingering finish is transparent to stony, crystalline and floral nuances.HK$7,090.00 -
