The 2022 Château La Dominique might be the finest I've tasted from this estate. Located in the northern part of Saint-Emilion, not far from Cheval Blanc as well as the Pomerol border, with plenty of clay in the soils, it's based on 88% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, raised in 50% new barrels. Gorgeous darker currant and black cherry fruit, chocolate, leafy herbs, and a Pomerol-like damp earth character all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, has incredible purity, silky tannins, and a great finish. It's a gorgeously textured, seamless, balanced Saint-Emilion that already offers pleasure yet has a solid two decades of prime drinking ahead of it. Bravo.HK$5,130.00 -

Sleek ruby red, well judged extraction and use of oak, this is a great quality La Dominique, continuing a run of enjoyable vintages at this property under the team of Gwendeline Lucas and winemaker Yann Monties. Plenty of estate and appellation signature, sweet damson, black cherry, pomegranate and stone fruits, campfire smoke, clove spice and juicy lift, with a lingering, mouthwatering finish. Julien Viaud consultant. Tasted twice. 49hl/h yield. Harvest September 6 to 28, subdividing plots, including leaving the beginning and the ends of the rows for later harvesting. Aged in a mix of amphoras, wine globes, concrete eggs, 50% new oak.HK$2,100.00 -

The second wine of Château La Dominique, the 2019 Relais De La Dominique has a spicy, complex, forward style as well as notes of black cherries, leafy herbs, damp earth, and spice. It's ready to go and certainly delicious, with some of the purity and elegance found in the top wine.HK$1,085.00 -

La Falize Chardonnay 2021 exemplifies exceptional craftsmanship from the esteemed vineyards of the Mâconnais region in Burgundy. Carefully hand-harvested Chardonnay grapes are selected from premier terroirs, ensuring optimal ripeness and vibrant acidity. The wine undergoes a meticulous fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, preserving its fresh fruit character and delicate floral notes. Even better than the Vendange cuvee, and I suspect one of the wines of the vintage, Stephane’s 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Côtes Capelan is the top wine of the estate and is made from 80% Grenache and 10% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, raised 70% in concrete and 30% in barrels. There’s under 500 cases of this beauty and it reveals a deep purple color as well as decadent notes of blackberries, blackcurrants, crushed rocks and melted licorice. Full-bodied, thick, unctuous and massively concentrated, with ripe tannin and a killer finish, don’t miss it!HK$3,985.00 -
(6x75cl) 2016The La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2016 hails from the esteemed Tuscan vineyards of Italy. Expertly crafted by esteemed winemaker, Roberto Cipresso, this vintage's composition consists of 100% Sangiovese grapes, encapsulating rich aromas of dark fruit, spice and earthy undertones. It is the product of meticulous viticulture and hand-harvesting ensures the highest quality harvests.

This, combined with ageing for four years exclusively in Slavonian oak casks, lend the La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2016 its robust yet smooth character, rendering it an exceptional vintage.
The cellar is within the arched splendour of Montalcino's fortress, accentuating La Fiorita's commitment to integrating time-honoured tradition with modern viticulture. This delicious, fruit-forward, exuberant St.-Emilion is meant to be drunk in the next 5-7 years. Attractive, elegant, round and well-made, it offers copious notes of cherries, plums and dark fruits.HK$2,395.00 -

Solidly made, this deep ruby/plum-colored 2012 (92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc) offers up black cherry and cassis fruit, not a lot of complexity, a generous, juicy mouthful of wine. It is medium-bodied, cleanly made and best drunk over the net 8-10 years.HK$2,070.00 -

This wine is light, pleasant and fruity, but diluted. Drink it up over the near-term. La Fleur has been on a qualitative tier of late, but the 2013 is certainly not in that category.HK$2,155.00 -
Vinous - Antonio Galloni (86-89)
The 2014 La Fleur is deep, dense and authoritative in style. A host of black cherries, smoke, mocha, licorice, violets and plums blossom as this pliant, expressive wine shows off its bold personality. Today the tannins are quite overpowering. It will be interesting to see if the 2014 develops a bit better balance in bottle.HK$2,480.00 -

The 2015 La Fleur is forward, open-knit and quite attractive. Hints of cedar, tobacco, mint and dried flowers add aromatic lift and nuance to a core of dark red plum Merlot fruit in this pretty, midweight Saint-Émilion. The 2015 is not super-complex, but it is impeccably balanced. Drink it over the next decade or so.HK$2,505.00 -

Wine Advocate (91)
At present, this estate is the reference point for high quality wines from Lalande de Pomerol. The basic cuvee from proprietor Hubert de Bouard and his wife Corinne, the 2006 La Fleur de Bouard is composed of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Sensationally rich, with abundant quantities of blue and black fruits, spring flowers, graphite, licorice, and hints of espresso roast as well as toasty oak, it is supple enough to be drunk now, or cellared for a decade.HK$4,780.00 -
