Vinous (87)
The 2022 Bourgogne Chardonnay is a blend of parcels, 70% in Meursault and 30% in Puligny, with a majority purchased grapes and juice. It has a fresh, vibrant bouquet with citrus fruit and crushed stone - very well-defined. The palate is well-balanced with a slightly creamy texture thanks to the 20% new oak (a little higher than usual), offering touches of chamomile on the finish. Fine. Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-94)
Mid lemon yellow, with some warmth to the nose. On the palate there is a delicious depth of quality fruit with a little bit of mirabelle, but with a wave of slightly different flavours and a mineral touch to finish. Drink from 2028-2034.HK$5,055.00 -
Vinous (93-95)
The 2022 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru has a complex bouquet with lemon verbena, Clementine, hints of almond and hazelnut, and crushed stone coming through with time. The palate is well-balanced with a wonderful, slightly pithy texture and very good use of extract. It is slightly creamy but delivers a touch of spice on the refined finish. Vinous (94-96)
The 2022 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru comes from the oldest vines, almost 80 years old, planted by Charles Ballot's grandfather Raymond. It has the most mineralité on the nose, perhaps the most austere, but you cannot ignore the energy in this wine. The well-balanced palate has an absolute killer line of acidity, surfeit with tension, fanning out gloriously towards the finish. This stunning Meursault ranks amongst the finest in this vintage.HK$7,430.00 -

Really fresh and vivid with sliced grapefruit, lemon, green apple and white peach. Apricot, too. Medium to full body with phenolic texture and a long, vivid finish. 70% sauvignon, 20% semillon and 10% muscadelle. Drink or hold.HK$3,600.00 -

Wine Advocate (97)
Disgorged in January 2020, the 2009 Extra-Brut Premier Cru Millésime represents a new direction for Selosse's vintage bottling, as Guillaume Selosse wanted to produce this cuvée from all of the six villages in which the domaine's holdings are located. The resulting wine is spectacular, soaring from the glass with a deep and complex bouquet of mandarin orange, honeycomb, ripe peaches, freshly baked bread, almond paste and dried apricots. Full-bodied, deep and complete, it's elegantly muscular and multidimensional, with extraordinary mid-palate amplitude, ripe but lively acids and a long, intensely sapid finish.HK$102,590.00 -
Vinous - Antonio Galloni (98)
The 2004 Vintage is a gorgeous Champagne that is just beginning to enter its first plateau of maturity. Dried flowers, brioche, mint, marzipan, tangerine peel and spice lend notable nuance throughout. A hint of reduction adds intrigue. As always, the 2004 is a linear, focused Champagne endowed with terrific energy. It is impeccably done. There's a bit more Chardonnay and Meunier than usual in this vintage, and that very much comes through in the wine's personality and overall feel. The blend is 37% Pinot Noir, 39% Chardonnay and 24% Meunier as opposed to the more classic 50%/35%/15% blend. Disgorged: Summer 2018. Krug ID: 318031.HK$16,385.00 -

Emanating elegance and refinement, the Louis Roederer Vignoble de la Montagne Late Release 1995, 1996 NV graced the world with its majesty, courtesy of the acclaimed Champagne House of Louis Roederer. Birthed in the grandeur of Montagne de Reims, France, this wine is a testament to the meticulous cultivation and artistry in every Roederer creation. It offers an engaging dance of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, matured over three exceptional years, heightening its charm.
Upon tasting, connoisseurs savour the profound complexity and robust flavours held within its golden depths. A beautiful interplay of orchard fruits, honeyed brioche, and stone fruits, harmonised with an exquisite, mineral-laced finish that is quintessential of Louis Roederer Vignoble de la Montagne late releases. Its evolved, yet vibrant taste, earned through an extended ageing period, unveils a masterful balance that gleams through every sip, telling a story of a momentous vintage.

Vinous (98)
The 2010 Dom Ruinart is starting to open up nicely. There's still plenty of the intense, chalky minerality and energy the wine showed last year, but also a bit more mid-palate richness to balance things out. Lemon confit, marzipan, white flowers, slate and white pepper are some of the many aromas and flavors that take shape in the glass. As good as the 2010 is today, I imagine it will be even better in another few years' time. As I have written previously, the 2010 Dom Ruinart is one of the most impressive Champagnes ever made here. If there is anything better, I don't think I have tasted it!HK$9,415.00 -

The 2023 Suduiraut (100% Sémillon) is a real stunner. Light on its feet yet wonderfully deep, the 2023 offers up a heady mix of tangerine oil, mint, white flowers, apricot and passion fruit. Readers will find a Sauternes that is more finesse than power. The 2023 is essentially a blend of three picks. The first was done at the end of September and accounted for 20% of the crop. The core of the vineyard, about 75%, was picked in a day ten window in October, following the September rains. A smaller third pick rounded out the harvest.HK$2,562.00 -

The Real Review (98)
Light bright yellow with a smoky, nutty, barrel fermented bouquet which also packs seaspray/oyster-shell, mixed spices and talcy aromas into the mix. In the mouth it's very intense and focused, tensioned and crisp, without strident acidity but lovely refreshing properties. A superb wine, quietly complex and penetrating, obviously barrel-fermented but not showing too-overt oak. The acidity is bright and refreshing and cleanses the aftertaste. Amazing length. Burghound (93-96)
Cool and strikingly elegant aromas include those of quinine, white peach, spice and an abundance of classic Chablis notes. The dense yet wonderfully refined medium-weight flavors brim with dry extract on the gorgeously long, balanced and highly complex finale. This is extremely stylish and very promising.
