Made next to the great Haut-Brion. Aromas of cocoa and milk chocolate with dark fruits. Full body, with silky tannins and a polished finish. Very refined tannins. So long and pretty. Class. Try in 2017.HK$14,995.00 -

Good full red. Currant, plum, minerals, roasted nuts, cedar, and a sweet marzipan note on the nose. Smooth, fresh and deep on the palate; a mineral pungency and firm structure give the wine good grip. Here the tannins coat more of the mouth. The '97 will make a more agreeable drink in the two or three years following the bottling than this vintage, but this '96 is a more serious wine.HK$13,685.00 -

(1x75cl) 1995Bardins Blanc 1995 is an exquisite vintage hailing from the esteemed Loire Valley, meticulously crafted by the renowned Bardins estate. This exceptional white wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes, handpicked from age-old vines that thrive in the region’s limestone-rich terroir. The grapes undergo a delicate pressing process, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve their vibrant acidity and pure fruit essence. Bardins Blanc 1995 is then aged gracefully in French oak barrels for twelve months, infusing subtle notes of vanilla and toast without overpowering its natural elegance. The result is a harmonious balance of citrus aromas, green apple nuances, and a mineral backbone, culminating in a long, refined finish. Celebrated in esteemed wine publications, Bardins Blanc 1995 exemplifies the Bardins family’s commitment to quality and tradition, making it a prized addition for collectors and discerning enthusiasts alike.

Structured and dense, the wine has bold blackberry fruits and tannins like velvet. It is full-bodied with great acidity as well as generous fruitiness. One of the best from this estate.HK$3,220.00 -

The 2017 Bouscaut does not quite reveal the same precision and detail on the nose as some of its peers, though it does improve with aeration showing humidor and espresso. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins and supple in texture. An understated, pliant finish renders this quite approachable. Drink over the next 5 to 7 years.HK$1,090.00 -

I loved the 2020 Château Bouscaut. It has an incredible nose of pure cassis and black raspberries interwoven with notes of violets, tobacco, sous bois, and ample spicy background oak. Just a classic Graves on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness, lots of classic minerality, scorched earth nuances, ripe tannins, and a great finish, it’s going to benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and keep for 15-20 years or more. I love the balance, and this is unquestionably a wine well worth seeking out.HK$1,690.00 -

Dark, glowing crimson. Quite a rich, ripe nose. Suave palate with sufficient fruit (I wonder why their Merlot did so well?) and yet some bordeaux rigidity. Bone dry! Classic build that will always need food but the structure is fine. It’s just a little lacking density.HK$2,905.00 -

The 2005 Bouscaut Blanc is a very pretty wine. It has also aged better than the red. Orange peel, chamomile, dried flowers and sage all meld together in the glass. Mid-weight and creamy, with lovely textural complexity from bottle age, the 2005 has aged nicely. I wouldn’t push my luck aging it, but the 2005 is a total delight.HK$1,685.00 -

Jancis Robinson (17)
Full bottle a heavy 1,375 g. Clear glass wrapped in silver foil. Undated cask sample. 68% Sémillon, 32% Sauvignon Blanc. Aged 12 months in oak barrels (40% new). Interesting Sémillon-dominated blend that is fresher than Ferrande's and, on the basis of past vintages of Bouscaut Blanc, should age well. Waxy textured with green fruit and leafy flavours. Very lively with good breadth. Thoroughly rewarding. Quite long. 13.5%HK$2,915.00 -

Still a little cloudy, suggesting lees ageing. Really exciting energy, masses of ripe fruit and a top note of light struck-match character. Very long. Bouscaut does it again with its white wine! Sherbet and savour – more complex than many dry white bordeaux. Still a bit of chew on the end.HK$3,335.00 -

This small jewel of a property owned by the Garcin family has been making great wine for a number of years, with the only problem being its very limited availability. Their beautifully deep 2005 has a dark purple color and displays charcoal, blackberry and cassis fruit, with some smoky barbecue notes in the background. This full-bodied, opulent wine is still youthful at age 10, and promises to continue to evolve for another 15-20 years. Pure and stunning, this is a great wine of the vintage.HK$3,755.00 -

This magnificent, dense plum/purple-colored Pessac-Leognan reveals notes of scorched earth, burning embers, blackberries and truffles. Composed of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from a vineyard gorgeously situated between Malartic Lagraviere and Haut-Bailly, it possesses full-bodied power, a stunningly intense, voluptuous, layered mouthfeel and abundant levels of fruit, glycerin and tannin. The 2009 ranks alongside the magnificent 2000, which is aging at a glacial pace. Unfortunately, proprietress Helene Garcin only produces around 500 cases of this somewhat cult-ish Pessac-Leognan. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2040.HK$10,270.00 -
