After a splendid bottle last year, this 2004 Meursault from Domaine Coche-Dury did not hit the same stellar heights. It just did not show quite the same ethereal level of precision and focus as the previous example, perhaps more backward and reticent than I was expecting. It takes time but eventually that gunflint aroma begins to emerge and you start thinking about Coche-Dury. The palate is vibrant and captivating, very well defined with supremely well judged acidity, vibrant citrus lemon and mineral notes with a long finish. It is still a fabulous Meursault, but a point less than last time.HK$25,850.00 -

As ever, the 2022 Meursault Les Chevalières is almost the stylistic mirror image of the Rougeots, even though the parcels are neighbors (the soil and exposition, however, are different). Unwinding in the glass with notes of citrus oil, crisp Anjou pear, white flowers, praline and freshly baked bread, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and racy, with a chiseled, intensely mineral profile and a mouthwateringly saline finish.HK$47,120.00 -

Producing some of the most powerful and long-aging white wines of the Cote de Beaune, Meursault can often be singled out by its distinctive buttery, nutty, and vanilla spice characteristics. While there are no Grand Cru vineyards here, there is no denying the exceptional quality of the wines hailing from its finest Premier Cru sites; Les Perrieres, Les Genevrieres and Les Charmes.
