The 2018 Meursault Les Tillets comes from 0.66 hectares of vine. It is tighter and more backward on the nose compared to the En La Barre, and slightly earthier in style, with flinty, chalky notes reluctantly unfolding. The well-balanced palate delivers good concentration on the entry and notes of orange zest, white peaches and a healthy dash of lemongrass. Great tension and wonderful spiciness surface on a finish that is more outgoing than the aromatics at the moment. Excellent.HK$4,995.00 -
(6x75cl) 2022Burghound (93)
Sweet spot Outstanding. This is aromatically similar to the Charmes but with more floral influence and perhaps just a touch more ripeness. On the palate the larger-bodied flavors possess a highly seductive, caressing and plush mouthfeel thanks to the abundance of sappy dry extract that partially masks just how powerful this is, particularly on the notably more complex and tightly wound finale. Lovely and harmonious and a wine that could be reasonably approached after only 5 or so years.HK$9,405.00 -

Burghound (92)
Outstanding. Much like the Limozin, the expressive nose is perfumed and elegant with its cool array of just sliced citrus, smoked apple and subtle floral and spice wisps. There is excellent punch to the beautifully textured medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the balanced and sneaky long finish. Like several of the wines in the range, this could use better depth but it is clearly built-to-age and developing more complexity should just be a matter of patience.HK$11,044.00 -

(6x75cl) 2022Burghound (94)
Sweet spot Outstanding. Cool, pure and wafting aromas include those of exotic tea, Granny Smith apple, zest and pretty spice nuances. The middleweight flavors are markedly finer though not as dense or powerful while flashing more evident minerality on the strikingly long finish that is also wonderfully harmonious, indeed the word Zen comes to mind. Excellent and one to look for.HK$10,910.00 -
(6x75cl) 2022Burghound (92)
Outstanding. Ripe and vaguely liqueur-like aromas of pear, green fruit, citrus confit and spice are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The generously portioned big-bodied flavors display a taut muscularity and excellent power on the solidly long, balanced and very firm finale. Poruzots always ages extremely well yet this could reasonably be approached after 5-ish or so years.HK$9,710.00 -

The 2011 Meursault 1er Cru Porusot (spelled with an “s” not “z”!) comes from two parcels. It has a scintillating, vibrant mineral-driven bouquet stylistically equidistant between Puligny and Meursault. The palate is extremely well-balanced with immense precision, starting off with real race and drive and then easing back toward the finish that offers just a touch of spice. This is another superb Meursault ‘11 from Jean-Marc. Drink now-2025.HK$13,475.00 -

Bright light yellow. Strong oak in evidence in the form of high-toned curry spice. Musky and sweet; the richest to this point of these 2013s, but with healthy balancing acidity. The oak adds an element of texture and complexity without overwhelming the wine's stone fruit flavors. Finishes chewy yet light on its feet. Roulot did a bit of lees stirring in 2013 at the end of the fermentations but not afterwards.HK$12,215.00 -

Bright, light yellow. Stone fruits, flowers and a whiff of oak on the nose. Dense, fine-grained and energetic; quite dry and classic but the wine's oak element is currently suppressing its fruit. Finishes a bit phenolic and long.HK$45,165.00 -

The 1999 Meursault Perrières 1er Cru from Jean-Marc Roulot is poured from magnum. Silvery in hue and showing little age, it has a precise, Puligny-like bouquet with subtle scents of dandelion and wet stone. The terroir really shines through here. The palate is very saline on the entry that gets the taste-buds flowing, just a hint of crème brûlée and lemon peel furnishing the clean and precise finish. I suspect that the larger format here renders this a little more youthful than in bottle, but it is still an outstanding Meursault from Roulot, one that has many years ahead. As the best examples of Perrieres always do, this just oozes class, minerality, sophistication and refinement. Powerful and explosive aromas burst from the glass yet there is nothing heavy or forced and the flavors display awesome intensity as this just etches itself into the palate and stains it as well. The length was so good that I could taste this the next morning and the complexity is literally stunning. Another genuinely great Roulot Perrieres.HK$56,715.00
