Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92)In bottle. A fraction paler and tighter on the nose, after bottling. A pretty trace of wood, a little touch of the exotic, the thicker texture of all Valentin's wines this year, generous yellow fruit, low but adequate acidity, no heat though and maybe a saline note to finish. |

Wine Advocate (93)The 2022 Meursault 1er Cru Poruzot wafts from the glass with aromas of white peach, pear, apple blossom, hazelnuts and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it's seamless and vibrant, with an elegantly fleshy core of fruit, bright acids and a saline finish. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (89-91)Again one of the deeper colours. Slightly chunky old fashioned nose. A little more elegance in the finish than the straight Meursault, but maybe this is falling between two stools. Robust with just a little hillside tang to it. |

Vinous (93)The 2017 Meursault Charmes 1er Cru had been bottled in August 2018. It has a well-defined bouquet, hints of white chocolate infusing the citrus fruit, and just a touch of honey giving away the warmth of the growing season. The palate is well-balanced with a discreet spicy opening that dovetails into a pure, quite tensile midpalate. There is a sense of fullness to this Meursault, which displays impressive amplitude toward the persistent finish. This comes highly recommended. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-94)Full pale lemon. The bouquet is attractive with an intriguing note of liquorice. Quite full on the nose, with a little warmth as well as body, then brought back in to a beautiful finish. Good acidity. A little tension behind, needs time. A wine currently showing in two halves, but which may very well develop positively from here. A conservative score for now. Tasted: November 2021 |

Vinous (89-91)The 2021 Meursault Perrières 1er Cru is just missing a little _mineralité _and terroir expression compared to others that I tasted from this noble site. Maybe just a little closed at the present? The palate follows suit, perfectly well balanced though it just lacks a bit of verve and tension. Afford this two or three years in bottle and let's see if it has something up its sleeve. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (89-91)Made up from 16 different plots. A pale lemon colour. The nose is undemonstrative but one senses the concentration behind. Indeed, the fruit builds to the back of the palate with a little ripe citrus and correct acidity. Fine length, a little more interest than the very capable Puligny. Drink from 2029-2034. Tasted: November 2023. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-92)Fine lemon and lime from Drouhin’s stable source in Meursault, a little fuller and richer than the other two main villages, but with a fresh aspect to the generous fruit which works very well. Excellent aftertaste, Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Nov 2024. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-97)5 Star Wine. This special bottling comes from the top left corner of their holding. Mid lemon yellow. A sense of intensity rather than the detail up front. The wood is entirely integrated. Four barrels, out of 40 overall in Genevrières. (2 out of 13 in 2024). Two minutes in the glass and the highest class of very pure white fruit emerges. A stunning purity and subtlety before a raft of power., assisted by the age of the vines (50+) as well as the terroir. Will still be tasting this when I reach Beaune! Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted Oct 2024. |

Burgundy | 1 | 93-95 (IB) | HK$5,930.00
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-95)Some light green reflections in the primrose yellow colour. A stricter nose, perhaps a touch of sulphur. This may also appear more backward coming after the Charmes. Then a vast wealth of fruit on the palate and now we see the real wine. It maintains the herbal note I associate with Genevrières, alongside golden fruit at a perfect degree of ripeness. The fruit and the acidity weave in and out of each other. I would not want the fruit to be riper but it is full of charm as it stands, and kept in place by the precision of the structure. Very fine. Drink from 2029-2037. |

Burgundy | 1 | 93-96 (IB) | HK$5,065.00
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-96)Mid yellow, with a really beautiful succulent nose, picked at perfect ripeness, and not hiding the delicacy and detail of fine Genevrières. Some lime, some verbena, delicate fresh apples, back to the lime blossom, then a really fine boned framework on the palate. Tingles the tastebuds in the most delicious way. A beautifully crafted 2023 Genevrières. Drink from 2029-2037. Tasted Oct 2024. |

Burgundy | 1 | 90-92 (IB) | HK$3,495.00
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-92)Mid lemon yellow. The bouquet has a little softer orchard fruit compared to the Bourgogne, and is very true to its Meursault roots. The white fruit continues on the palate and is now joined by a saline note, while the ripe apples give an immediate appeal. There are little waves of flavour towards the back of the palate. Once again the aftertaste is fine, precise and thoroughly promising. Drink from 2027-2032. |
