Wine Advocate (92+)A beautiful wine, Ente's 2018 Meursault Clos des Ambres unwinds to reveal aromas of pear, orange oil, wheat toast, chamomile and subtle hints of praline. Medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, with lively acids and chalky structuring extract, it's an elegant, nicely concentrated rendition of a cuvée that I've always particularly enjoyed chez Ente. I suspect it will develop very nicely with some time in bottle. |

Vinous (91-93)(these vines, which Ente says are 120 years old, produced just 14 hectoliters per hectare in 2015): Very bright, pale yellow. Riesling-like reduction to the very pure aromas of pineapple and lemon oil. Rich and chewy in the mouth, with the wine's seamless yellow fruit flavors giving a sweet impression that's nicely countered by a flavor of dusty stone. Ente noted that the ancient vines that he replanted when he started here go into his basic Meursault cuvée. With its bulletproof fruit and underlying minerality, this is a wonderfully plush and complete Meursault in the making. |

Burgundy | 1 | 91 (VN) | HK$76,690.00 | |||||
Vinous (91)Sexy aromas of citrus fruits, oatmeal and smoke. Sweetly spicy in the mouth, with a ripe peach flavor and a seductively supple texture. Very good acidity frames the fruit and extends the finish. (Two other Meursaults were considerably more difficult to taste: A village wine, simply labeled Meursault, was plagued by mercaptan, and despite offering sexy hazelnut and oatmeal flavors and harmonious acidity was impossible to judge. And a Meursault Les Narvaux showed a resiny aroma of Calvados. Madame Bize said the wine was simply too young, and I suppose it's possible that it was going through an oxidative stage.) |

Wine Advocate (90-92)The 2014 Meursault Clos du Cromin, which includes old vines planted in 1927 and young vines planted in 2000, has a delightful bouquet that is understated at first, coquettish and reluctantly revealing yellow plum, cold granite and flinty notes, more Puligny-like than Meursault at the moment. The palate is very well defined with a keen thread of acidity, well-poised fresh lime, green apple and a touch of gooseberry towards the persistent finish. This is a superb expression of this village cru. |
