James Suckling (98)A super-elegant dry riesling for the hot and dry 2018 vintage! Brimming with kafir-lime, mirabelle-plum and dried-mint aromas. Great underplayed power on the medium- to full-bodied palate. The concentration seems to build with the chalky minerality at the overwhelming finish! From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Wine Advocate (94+)Deep garnet colored, the 2010 Tronquoy-Lalande bursts from the glass with bold scents of baked plums, mulberries and crème de cassis plus suggestions of chocolate box, dried roses and fallen leaves. Full-bodied, the palate has a solid line of ripe, grainy tannins and oodles of freshness supporting the muscular fruit, finishing long and mineral-laced.

Wine Enthusiast (92)Very firm tannins coming from ripe black fruits give this structured wine, produced by the winemaking team from Château Montrose, a solid, dense feel. The core of dryness is surrounded by rich fruits and bright acidity. The wine presents the possibility of good aging; drink from 2018.

Vinous - Neal Martin (94)The 2015 Tronquoy Lalande has a delightful bouquet with blackberry, bilberry and light licorice scents that gain vigor with aeration. The palate is balanced and medium-bodied with firm tannins and neatly integrated oak. Tarry black fruit is layered on the finish and leaves a firm grip, suggesting it will require several years before this reaches its drinking window. Tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting.

Jeb Dunnuck (96)A brilliant effort from this château, the 2023 Château Tronquoy sports a deep purple hue as well as classic cassis and darker, almost blue fruits intermixed with leafy herbs, tobacco, damp earth, and floral nuances. Based on 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, and 11% Petit Verdot from the estate's Terrace No. 03 with gravelly sands over a clay-gravel matrix and aged 12 months in 30% new French oak, it's medium to full-bodied, round, supple, and layered, with a beautiful core of sweet fruit and a rare opulence for the 2023 vintage. It's going to shine for 30 years if well stored and is a brilliant buy in the vintage. Drink 2027-2055.

Wine Advocate (96)Extremely young with an unbelievable deep purple color, the 2000 Troplong Mondot has hardly budged since I tasted it in 2003. Two recent tastings confirmed that this is the greatest Troplong Mondot between their profound 1990 and more recent vintages such as 2005, 2008, and 2009. Copious chocolate, graphite, blackberry, blueberry, cassis, and ink characteristics are present in this full-bodied, powerful, massive St.-Emilion. While the tannins are noticeable, they are better integrated than they were seven years ago, and the fruit, extract, and richness clearly outweigh the wine's structure. This 2000 will benefit from another 4-5 years of cellaring (longer than I originally predicted), and has at least two decades of drinkability ahead of it.

LaRVF (95)Troplong-Mondot domine la dégustation par sa densité, sa splendide matière et sa texture enrobée. Les tanins sont imposants mais arrondis par l'élevage. La matière superbe transcende le millésime.
