Here the slightly higher elevation and southwest exposure result in a Barolo that is more aromatically lifted and red-toned vis-à-vis the Lazzairasco. Mint, pine, sweet red cherries and orange peel lifted from the glass, supported by firm yet nicely balanced tannins that give the wine its shape. This, too, is a fairly open 2010 that should drink well with only minimal cellaring, within the context of the year. As always, this is the most feminine of the Porro Barolos. |
