Vinous (97)(5.9 g/l total acidity, 3.29 pH, 27.3 g/l dry extract, 13.9% alcohol): Bright, deep red. Explosively perfumed aromas of redcurrant, red cherry, yellow plum, violet, minerals and licorice on the captivating nose. Powerful, superconcentrated and seamless, with superb inner-mouth perfume and energy to the underbrush, sweet spice and white stone fruit flavors. Very full and sophisticated on the long finish, which boasts a seamless texture and uncommon flavor complexity. This is still amazingly young and built for the long haul. A absolutely superb wine from one of the greatest Brunello vintages of all time. This also spent 48 months in large oak cask. |

Jeb Dunnuck (97)The 2021 Barolo Cannubi is a jeweled ruby color and is fragrant, floral, and complex with aromas of fresh flowers, black raspberries, cherries, fresh spice, and sweet orange citrus. Medium-bodied, the palate is highly elegant and graceful, with refined, even tannins, ripe acidity, and a long finish with a great feel throughout. This continues to be one of the top expressions coming out of Cannubi and offers both immediate pleasure and a wide window for enjoyment over the coming decades. |

Jeb Dunnuck (96)A lifted and energetic Barolo, the 2021 Barolo Via Nuovais boasts a jeweled ruby color and has a fantastic, balanced nose with notes of ripe peaches, sweet sandalwood, floral perfume, and wild strawberries. Medium-bodied, the palate is refreshing and focused, with vibrant acidity, finely coiled tannins, and a long and linear finish. It has a bit more open feel at this stage, but it should have solid aging potential and improve over the next 20 or more years. |

Vinous (98)The 2021 Barolo Villero soars from the glass with intensely spiced, balsamic-tinged aromatics. Deceptively medium in body, with superb persistence and class, the 2021 is simply magnificent. Beams of tannin shape the unforgettable, persistent finish. This is another wine that demands patience. The Villero is not an easy wine, rather it is a Barolo that offers a more inward, at times intellectual, expression of Nebbiolo. |

Vinous (98)The 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva is classic Quintarelli to the core, with a vibrant cascade of exotic spices, dried flowers, citrus peels and fresh crushed cherries forming its seductive bouquet. Juicy in feel yet deep and complex, it sweeps across the palate with ripe wildberry fruits elevated by a whiplash of electric acidity as violet inner florals arc across the senses. Long and staining but also impossibly fresh, the 2015 leaves a web of fine-grained tannins as hints of plum skin and licorice slowly fade. This is a rockstar. |

Wine Advocate (94)The Massolino 2021 Barolo reveals a shiny ruby color and a core of dark fruit. Beyond the plummy fruit is tar, licorice, pressed flower and campfire ash. This wine has a pronounced savory side, yet it all fits squarely into a very delicate and finessed delivery. This is a pretty example of the vintage. |

Decanter (100)The 2016 Redigaffi is a wine of exquisite harmony and balance. It is still a wine I love. For Frascolla, '2016 was very, very good and one of the greatest vintages in the last 10 years.' Summer was sunny but temperate and ripening was long and slow, lasting until the first week of September. The wine has very vibrant, clearly delineated aromas of smoke, spice, tar and ripe blackcurrant, with fragrant and delicate yet precise scents of violet and wild flowers. There's a lovely, vivid freshness on the finish and the tannins are seamlessly integrated into the wine - perfectly extracted and perfectly ripe. It flows beautifully across the palate and it still feels so young. |

Vinous (94)The 2012 Barolo Bricco delle Viole is pure class. A decidedly sensual, inviting Bricco delle Viole, the 2012 fleshes out in the glass with an effortless, inviting personality that is impossible to resist. Deep red cherry and plum notes open up first, followed by the classic floral notes that are so typical of this site. In 2012, the Bricco delle Viole is quite forward and fruit-driven, with essentially none of the angular contours that are typical when the wine is young. All of that means the 2012 will deliver immense pleasure pretty much upon release. There is so much to like here. The only real question is whether the 2012 will shut down in bottle or not. This is another addictively delicious Barolo from the Vajra family. |

Vinous (89+)The 2014 Barbaresco Sorì Paitin has lost a lot of the mid-palate depth it showed from cask last year. Sweet tobacco, licorice, dried herbs, dried cherries are some of the nuances that develop in the glass. Austere today, the 2015 is going to need at least a few years to come into its own. The 2014 was bottled later than originally planned, which may explain why the wine lacks the fruit it showed from barrel. |

Jancis Robinson (17)Serralunga d'Alba. Youthful mid ruby. Beguiling nose of concentrated cherry, dark spice and minerally, stony notes. Shows real generosity on the nose. Palate equally generous, with concentrated, juicy sour-cherry fruit lined with long, powdery tannins. Hedonistic, for sure, and so confident! Ready now but will improve. Simply delicious and definitely one of the vintage's best buys. |

James Suckling (99)Wow. The aromas are really something else with red fruits, black olives, spices like cardamon and nutmeg, as well as hints of tar and meat. It’s full-bodied yet in check and focus with fine, fine tannins that roll over the palate and create beautiful motion. Chewy yet silky and endless. A great young merlot and one of the best for a number of years. Try after 2028. |

James Suckling (97)The aromas of dark berries, violets and perfume are enchanting. The palate is medium-bodied with ultra-fine tannins that are polished and so elegant and they run the length of the wine. They are rather endless. Very classy and balanced. A merlot and sangiovese blend. Give this a year or two, but it’s already a joy to drink. Drink or hold. |

Vinous (93)The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino impresses with a perfumed blend of fresh blackberries enshrouded in an air of violets, lavender and crushed stone. This is supple and soothing upon the palate, with floral-laced red and black fruit underscored by a core of saline-minerality. The 2018 lingers impossibly long with a staining of primary concentration and gently grippy tannins while maintaining a marvelous fresh persona. The balance here is quite stunning. |
