Vinous - Antonio Galloni (94)The 2021 Barolo Brunate is another compelling wine from Rinaldi. Floral overtones meld into a core of dark red and blue-toned fruits. In this tasting, the Brunate is surprisingly gentle relative to the other wines in the range. That is somewhat unexpected, but also something that works. Hints of lavender, licorice, cloves and coffee build effortlessly, framed by insistent tannins that extend the finish. |

Vinous (93+)The 2017 Barolo Cannubi is sensual, polished and a real delight to taste. Soft and effusive, with lovely aromatic presence, the Cannubi will drink well with minimal cellaring. Sweet dried cherry, mint, spice, crushed rose petal and sweet pipe tobacco all grace this super-appealing, mid-weight Barolo from the Rinaldi family. The 2017 is a bit light, but it is super delicious today. |

Vinous (94)The 2018 Barolo Cannubi is bright and effusive, as wines from this site tend do be. Crushed flowers, spice, new leather and macerated cherry are some of the notes that soar from the glass. The Cannubi offers fine depth and tons of site character, both of which were hard to achieve in 2018. |

Wine Advocate (94)This wine shows an especially minty character. The Francesco Rinaldi & Figli 2020 Barolo Cannubi has a bright profile of dark and purple fruits with a sweet finish. But those minty and spicy aromas make the difference. The alcohol content is just a hair below the other wines in this portfolio at 14.5%. This is a production of 9,000 bottles. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (95)The 2021 Barolo Cannubi marries sensuality and power. Crushed rose petal, macerated cherry, leather, incense and pipe tobacco are suggestive of Cannubi's beguiling qualities until potent tannins hit the mid-palate and finish. Readers should plan on being patient, as the 2021 is going to require a number of years to be at its most inviting. There's a lot of wine here. |

Vinous (95+)The 2015 Barolo Cannubi Riserva is a total stunner. In fact, it is one of the very best Barolos I have ever tasted from the Rinaldi family. Dark yet translucent, with remarkable depth, the Riserva is a total thrill from the very first taste. Lavender, spice, menthol, licorice and mocha give the Cannubi its distinctly dark, sepia-toned personality. The 2015 needs time, but it is compelling, to say the least. Floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (97)The 2019 Barolo Riserva Cannubi is such a total knockout. I am not always a fan of Riservas, as I don’t think the wines always deliver something meaningfully better than the non-Riserva versions, but that clearly does not apply here. A statuesque, towering Barolo, Rinaldi's 2019 Riserva dazzles from start to finish. Cannubi signatures are amplified to the maximum, but not distorted. Waves of dark red fruit caress the palate on the way to a deep, layered finish that is nothing short of compelling. Bravo! |

Vinous (94)The 2016 Barbaresco is fabulous. Rich, ample and inviting, with terrific depth, the 2016 opens up beautifully in the glass. Sweet cherry, licorice, mint, rose petal, spice and new leather flesh out effortlessly. More than anything, though, I admire the wine's persistence and overall balance. The 2016 is the finest Barbaresco I have tasted yet from Francesco Versio. This is such a pretty wine. Compared with previous vintages, the 2016 offers more finesse and a more transparent expression of Nebbiolo than I have seen in the past. |

Vinous (94)Masses of crushed stone, ash, dusty sage and blackberry form a darkly alluring bouquet as the 2020 Rosso MunJebel CR (Campo Re) grumbles up from the glass. This is pure seduction with textures of pure silk and vividly ripe wild berry fruits. It finds lovely balance through a core of saline-tinged acidity. Wonderfully lifted and refined despite the power within, the CR finishes crunchy and long with a coating of gently grippy tannins that frame the experience perfectly. It's almost impossible to stop at just one glass. Wow. |

Vinous (93)The 2020 Rosso MunJebel CS is dreamy in the glass, displaying aromas of sweet violet, lavender, crushed blackberries and a dusting of confectionery spice. It sweeps across the palate, energetic and bright, with ripe wild berry fruits and crisp minerality propelled by juicy acidity. A coating of fine tannins and a lick of blood orange linger through the conclusion, adding a lovely framework as the 2020 finishes with admirable length. This is almost too easy to like. |

Vinous (95)The entrancing 2019 Munjebel Rosso FM (Feudo di Mezzo Sottana) blossoms in the glass, with a dusty mix of sweet minty herbs and bright cherry complemented by a hint of cinnamon sugar. Its textures are like pure silk slowly draped across the palate, creamy, smooth, yet lifted and refined, delivering ripe red and hints of blue fruit under an air of lavender and violets. A pleasant inner sweet lingers on, along with a coating of fine tannins, as residual acids and hints of sour citrus maintain a lovely balance. The word “radiant” comes to mind and stays with me throughout the entire experience. Bravo. The Munjebel FM is a 100% Nerello Mascalese produced from the lower elevations of the Feudo di Mezzo cru. This is pure class. |

Vinous (94)The 2020 Rosso MunJebel FM is a beautiful interpretation of Feudo di Mezzo—darkly floral, with dusty rose and dried black cherries accentuated by hints of sage and lavender. It displays velvety textures but possesses ample lift and finesse. Cooling acidity and a cascade of perfumed florals amass toward the close. The 2020 finishes remarkably fresh with a gently tannic heft, leaving a pleasantly tart sensation of sour cherry that keeps the mouth watering for more. The FM is sourced from Feudo di Mezzo Sottana. |

Vinous (95)The 2020 Rosso MunJebel PA wafts up with a sweet-and-sour bouquet as spiced orange and tropical citrus combine with masses of black raspberry and a dusting of violet candies. This is vividly fruit-focused, with wild acidity that excites the palate as crunchy woodland berry fruits cascade beneath an air of blue- and purple-toned inner florals. It closes with a coating of mouthwatering primary concentration and a sensation of liquid stone, all contrasted by crisp minerality. The Porcaria is built on power yet elegant to the extreme. |
