Arnoux-Lachaux
Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux
Established in 1858, Arnoux-Lachaux is a family affair. Pascal Lachaux (son-in-law of the late Robert Arnoux) is the fifth generation making wine at this Domaine, which has significant grand Cru holdings. he is now working in the winery with his son Charles who has joined him after working in wine regions in New Zealand, South Africa and Oregon.
The Domaine’s wine has always been good but its quality and reputation are sharply rising. A new winery, cellar upgrade and acquisition of a parcel of the Grand Cru Latricieres Chambertin have all contributed.

Vinous (90-92)(100% vendange entier; tasted from tank): Dark red with ruby tones. Deeper on the nose than the village Vosne, if not iniitially offering the same éclat of that wine; dark berry aromas are complicated by emerging notes of licorice, violet and mint. Plush and broad but quite airy and dry, offering an intriguing combination of thick texture and crunchy fruit. Plenty of stuffing for its ripe tannins. Displays a mineral quality on the spreading, glistening finish. The pH here is a rather high 3.77 but this wine does not lack for energy. |

Vinous (88-90)The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Poisets has quite a rich bouquet compared to the other crus from Arnoux-Lachaux, offering bilberry and raspberry aromas and just a touch of iris. The stocky palate displays a firm backbone and plenty of sous-bois, here mixed with tobacco and spice, though it pulls up a little short on the finish. Fine. |

Vinous (90)The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Poisets, which was hailed 2018 and therefore pruned short to replenish its vigour in 2019, was cropped at 15hl/ha. It has a fresh, slightly earthy bouquet with dark berry fruit, Earl Grey and light cedar scents. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine acidity, quite pliant on the mouth with a hint of white pepper towards the finish with sour cherry on the aftertaste. Fine. |
