The Camensac 1982 is a cherished embodiment from the illustrious wine producing region of Haut-Médoc in Bordeaux, France. This breath-taking vintage is expertly produced by the distinguished Château de Camensac, a historic fifth-growth estate renowned for its dedication to meticulous cultivation and classic vinification techniques. The Camensac 1982 showcases a delightfully aged blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, fermented in traditional temperature-controlled vats and aged in oak barrels, bestowing upon the wine a harmonious complexity and ageing potential. This mature Bordeaux exudes a fragrant aroma of dark fruits, intertwining with notes of sweet spice and subtle hints of cigar box, leading to a long, gratifying finish. The Camensac 1982, in its astonishing depth and perfect harmony, offers a truly bewitching drinking experience for fine wine enthusiasts. |

Wine Enthusiast (93)92-94 Barrel sample. Big, ripe, juicy wine, the tannins very solid and dark. It has layers of new wood, power and considerable density. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (91)The 2018 de Camensac has retained its attractive aromatics, needing just a little coaxing to reveal blackberry, bilberry, light marine scents and those iris petals that I remarked upon out of barrel. The palate is medium-bodied with good backbone and well-judged acidity. I admire the substance of this de Camensac, and there is wonderful salinity on the finish. This comes recommended and I can see it aging well. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (92-94)The 2019 de Camensac is more backward on the nose compared to its peers. Gradually unfurls with broody black fruit, mixed with Earl Grey and freshly rolled tobacco scents, tertiary in nature. Conversely the palate is brighter, equipped with a solid backbone and vibrant black fruit. What I appreciate is the slightly brittle texture towards the classically-styled finish. Huge potential for this superb Haut-Médoc. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (92)The 2020 Château de Camensac has an attractive nose with ample red berry fruit, brown spices, cedar and light earthy aromas. The Merlot is very expressive here (47% of the blend). The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and very well judged acidity. This is classic Haut-Médoc, cool and refined with a saline finish that gets the saliva flowing. One of the best wines from the estate in recent years. Highly recommended. |
