Dauvissat
One of the most prestigious producers of Chablis, they own some of the oldest and best vineyards, including prized sections of grand crus. For them terroir is everything and the process is as natural as possible. This produces intensely flavoured wines full of personality that are almost peerless.

Vinous (95)I have been fortunate to enjoy several bottles of Dauvissat’s 2006 Chablis Les Clos and they have all been gorgeous. This firm, taut Chablis was packed with perfumed, mineral-laced fruit. Although the wine will be even better with a few more years in the cellar it is pretty impressive even at this early stage. |

Vinous (96)The 2009 Chablis Les Clos is inward, cool and impeccably precise. It presents a chiseled, sculpted expression of fruit, then blossoms on the mid-palate and finish as the voice of the year comes through. The 2009 is a relatively open, radiant Les Clos that should offer rewarding drinking fairly early for this cuvée. It is drop-dead gorgeous from start to finish. |

Densely packed, tactile and suave, displaying outstanding energy and inner-mouth citrussy lift. Comes across as less violent than the Preuses, and more perfumed on the palate. Finishes with oustanding length and a magically light touch. |

Vinous (95-97)The 2018 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru is simply magnificent. In this vintage, all the Clos signatures are kicked up a few notches. Readers will find a dramatic Chablis of grand, sweeping proportions. Lemon confit, white pepper, mint and dried flowers build as this flamboyant, exotic Chablis shows off its curves. The 2018 is simply magnificent. There is not much more I can say than that. |
