Du Tertre

(34% cabernet sauvignon, 33% merlot and 33% cabernet franc; 30.1 g/l dry extract; 13.2% alcohol): Dark red with a garnet rim. Very sexy, inviting aromas of ripe red cherry, rose petal, mint, cinnamon and white pepper; this has to be one of the freshest, least overripe noses of all 2003 Bordeaux. Then remarkably vibrant and pure on the palate, with cabernet franc-dominated flavors of strawberry, violet, and cocoa complicated by a delicate white pepper nuance. The tannins are smooth and the finish long and suave. An alluring, supple wine with impeccable balance--and an unbelievable result in the furnace-like conditions of 2003.HK$7,005.00 -

Aromas of chocolate, sweet cherries, dried herbs, and a hint of tapenade jump from the glass of this medium-bodied, silky, soft, pretty Margaux. Enjoy it over the next 10-12 years.HK$6,430.00 -
Vinous - Antonio Galloni (90)
The 2005 du Tertre is a bold, savory wine, as it so often is. Game, scorched earth, licorice, tobacco and dried herbs give this dark, virile Margaux much of its distinctive personality. The 2005 has aged well. I would prefer to drink it over the next handful of years, before the fruit fully fades, even though there is enough density to allow for aging beyond that. Structurally, du Tertre is a bit lighter than most Margaux in 2005.HK$8,085.00 -

The 2010 du Tertre soars out of the glass with blackberry, sous-bois and light mint aromas. Good definition here and nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with supple but quite firm tannins, a welcome sprinkling of cracked black pepper and an off-dry finish that feels long and persistent. Superb. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal.HK$8,535.00 -

A wine with definition and refinement. Hints of tobacco and chocolate. Full body, super fine and flavorful. Juicy and savory. The walnut and spice on the end is gorgeous.HK$4,800.00 -

Made by the same team as Giscours, this is a fine wine. Its rich structure combines with acidity and dense, plummy fruit to give a wine that charms now but is sure to age well.HK$5,830.00 -

The 2017 du Tertre is a very pretty wine. Succulent red cherry, dried flowers, mint, blood orange and spice notes meld together in a pliant, mid-weight Margaux that will drink well right out of the gate. This is an especially elegant vintage for a property that often leans towards a wilder style. The 2017 is one of the prettiest recent Tertres I can remember tasting.HK$5,830.00 -
James Suckling (94-95)
Blackberry, graphite and blueberry character. It’s full-bodied, layered and chewy with fine-grained tannins and a punchy finish.HK$5,355.00 -
James Suckling (92-93)
A juicy and soft textured, medium-bodied red with cherry, earth and orange-peel character. Creamy and delicious. 64% cabernet sauvignon, 20% cabernet franc, 10% merlot and 6% petit verdot.HK$4,155.00
