Château Feytit-Clinet
About Château Feytit-Clinet
Château Feytit Clinet is a small property, particularly by Bordeaux standards, with a 7-hectare vineyard located near Chateau Clinet, Latour à Pomerol and Clos L'Église. The Chasseuil family retook over management of the estate in 2000 and undertook a series of measures to improve the quality of their wines. Putting his former experience at Château La Dominique to good use, Jeremy Chasseuil drastically reduced yields and practised green harvesting, resulting in a much richer wine. This small estate only produces about 1,200 to 1,500 cases of wines per vintage, and their relative obscurity bodes well for value seekers.

Jeb Dunnuck (96-99)From one of my favorite estates in Pomerol, situated between Trotanoy and Latour à Pomerol, the 2018 Château Feytit-Clinet is currently sitting at 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc being raised in 70% new French oak. Sporting a deep purple/blue color as well as a massive bouquet of blackberries, smoked herbs, liquid violets, and graphite, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a weightless, seamless texture, thrilling purity, and a great, great finish. It’s a powerful wine hitting 14.9% alcohol yet there’s not a trace of heat. Offering beautiful purity and flawless balance, it reminds me of the 2010, only better. |
