Georges Lignier

The Georges Lignier Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru 2019 is a spectacular expression of one of Burgundy's best appellations. Deeply rooted in the well-drained limestone soils of the reputed vineyards of Côte de Nuits, this ruby-red elixir exudes a captivating aroma of violets, cherries and spices underpinned by an earthy undertone suggestive of its terroir.
Matured for a significant 18 months in French oak barrels, this medium-bodied Pinot Noir's nuanced complexity unfolding on your palate captures the expert lineage of the Lignier family, with over a century of winemaking. Subtly nested tannins accompany a perfect balance of fruit and established oak flavours, culminating in a long and gratifying finish. The Georges Lignier Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru 2019 is, indeed, a true testament to the mastery of Burgundian viticulture.

The 2019 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru shows quite a bit of reduction on the nose though there appears to be satisfactory fruit underneath. The palate is chewy and quite dense, though I am seeking more nerve and mineralité on its "blocky" finish.HK$6,540.00
