Vinous (93)
Good deep red. Very sexy, soil-driven scents of plum, mocha, redcurrant, graphite and spices. Showing plenty of truffley underbrush but also superb inner-mouth energy and spice character to its plum and dark berry fruit. In a distinctly dark, earthy, almost austere style, finishing with dusty, fine, integrated tannins, hints of mint and plum, and terrific persistence. This wine is near its peak but there's still more to come.HK$57,345.00 -
Vinous (87)
Rather odd aromas of pepper, herbs, asparagus and horseradish. Then full, layered and sweet in the mouth, but with an intrusive vegetal quality hiding the site character. Tannins are nicely ripe. Roumier had to use commercial yeast skins to finish a stuck fermentation. He admits that the yeasts brought a foreign flavor to the wine, and he fined and coarsely filtered it prior to bottling. Still, he believes this Amoureuses will be better for time in bottle. We shall see.HK$614,155.00
