Henri Boillot
The Boillot family established themselves in the region in 1885, and Henri represents the fifth winemaking generation, with his son now overseeing the production of the reds.
The winery is located on the “other” side of the RN74 in an estate that includes the Damy cooperage. This impressive facility affords Henri far more space then if he were couched in some mediaeval maison in one of the villages, which is mandatory when you have such an all-embracing portfolio of wines.
Henri Boillot produces domaine and negociant wines from Burgandy’s most renowned growing areas. Henri is a 5th generation vigneron in the Cote d’Or. Wines of Maison Henri Boillot are produced in a cellar in Meursault and are vibrant and full of character.

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (87-89)
No new wood for the generic Bourgogne. Pale lemon and lime, slight sandalwood to the nose. Pure and crisp with a lemon and salty finish, excellent density a little barrel toast. Long finish. This Bourgogne Chardonnay shows typical Boillot purity and precision. Tasted: 10/1/2021HK$2,735.00 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (87-88)
Just their own vines. Mid yellow, quite robust nose, plenty of fruit if not quite the length of the great years, fresh acidity, zesty and makes one salivate. Still one of the best Bourgogne Blancs around. Drink from 2024-2026. Tasted: October 2022HK$2,735.00 -
Vinous (89-90)
The 2022 Bourgogne Blanc is superb. It offers up hints of apricot, baked apple tart, spice, vanillin and tangerine oil. Rich, dense and creamy, the Bourgogne Blanc hugely overdelivers. Henri Boillot offers a lot of wine here.HK$2,825.00 -

Vinous (93-95)
(13.4% natural alcohol; this vineyard saw less frost than the Boillots' Clos Vougeot parcels but the crop is small here even in the good years, according to Guillaume Boillot, who is aging the wine in a new barrel but vinified it in a traditional cuve for 25 days): Bright dark, red. Medicinal dark fruit and licorice aromas are a bit muted today by a strong oak element. Densely packed and wonderfully tactile but also juicy and energetic, conveying a strong impression of thrust to its very intense black cherry and saline soil flavors. Very concentrated, voluminous wine with a powerful impression of terroir; altogether fatter than the Boillot's '16 from the Côte de Beaune. Really spreads out to saturate the palate and linger on the dense, spicy aftertaste. One feels the thick skins in the wine's very natural tannins.HK$20,770.00 -
Burghound (95)
A gorgeously spicy nose features elegant red berry, Asian-style tea and a hint of violet aromas. The succulent and seductively textured medium weight plus flavors coat the palate with plenty of sap while delivering excellent length on the strikingly long finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth. This will need a few years to develop more overall depth but this should be seriously good when it finally reaches its apogee.HK$17,355.00 -

Vinous (92)
(Boillot vinified this wine with 30% whole clusters, describing it as an experiment): Good bright red. Slightly peppery aromas of spicy red berries and black cherry lifted by a subtle floral topnote. Salty, tactile and concentrated, displaying lovely savory depth and inner-mouth tension. Shows the medicinal quality of classic young Clos Vougeot without any hard edges. Finishes with nicely refined tannins and noteworthy lingering flavor.HK$7,865.00 -
Vinous (93)
Bright, dark red. Captivating aromas and flavors of raspberry, flowers and gibier, lifted by a note of white pepper. Comes across as distinctly wild after Boillot's estate bottlings from the Côte de Beaune. Quite broad and round for both Clos Vougeot and the 2014 vintage, offering noteworthy freshness, pliancy and depth. Finishes very smooth and long, with ripe, fine-grained tannins and no hard edges.HK$8,185.00 -

Boillot's 2015 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, which hails from the lieu-dit Grand Maupertui (neighboring Anne Gros' parcel), reveals a brooding bouquet of cassis, plum, musk and incense, framed by toasty new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and multidimensional, fresh and vibrant despite its considerable amplitude and power, with a fine-grained chassis of tannin and a long, sapid finish. This is a rich, lavish Clos Vougeot which should develop beautifully in the cellar.HK$9,600.00 -

The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is showing very well, soaring from the glass with aromas of wild berries, rose petals, violets, orange rind and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, with lively acids and a powdery but elegantly refined chassis of structuring tannins, concluding with a long and resonant finish.HK$9,190.00 -
Jancis Robinson (18+)
Subtle nose, impeccably fresh but lacking the nutty complexity normally associated with the appellation. Having said that, there is an incredibly dense palate and long, concentrated fruit which should age for a long time. Judging from their other 2015s, this will be magnificent - but it needs time to get there.HK$15,385.00 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (96)
Pale lemon. Excellent weight of fruit on the nose which shows significant promise. White stone fruit and a few plums at the edges. With a very refreshing gunflint reductive minerality. This is very Corton-Charlemagne. Tasted: May 2019.HK$17,165.00 -
Wine Advocate (95)
The most youthfully reserved wine in the cellar was the 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, a promising bottling that opens up to reveal scents of citrus zest, dried white flowers, green apple and pastry cream. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with racy acids and prodigious levels of searingly chalky dry extract that lend this wine incredible structure.HK$15,630.00 -
Burghound (96)
Subtle notes of mineral reduction and wood toast can be found on the aromas of green apple, clove and white flowers. The wonderfully intense, focused and muscular large-scaled flavors brim with both dry extract and an almost aggressively minerality on the markedly dry but not really austere finale. Like the Chevalier and Montrachet, this beauty of a Corton-Charlemagne is presently very tightly wound and is going to need extended patience to arrive at its peak. This too should be gorgeous in time.HK$20,045.00 -
Burghound (94)
There is a whisper of the exotic to the riper aromas that also possess admirable purity if noticeably less elegance. The succulent, powerful and dense big-bodied flavors once again coat the palate with sappy dry extract on the balanced and harmonious finale. While this isn't an elegant wine per se (Criots rarely is), it is more refined than it usually is.HK$28,895.00 -
Burghound (94)
A deft touch of wood sets off markedly spicy aromas of dark berry fruit coulis, sandalwood and exotic tea. The nicely concentrated and quite stylish flavors are at once caressing but punchy with a lovely texture on the balanced and lingering finish that flashes a touch of austerity. This too could use better depth, but more will almost certainly develop in time given the quality of the underlying material.HK$15,950.00 -
Vinous (93-95)
The 2022 Meursault Clos Richemont 1er Cru is a dense, opulent white built on texture more than anything else. It is one of the most overt wines in the Boillot range. Orange jam, spice, vanillin, lemon confit and baked apple tart infuse the 2022 with tons of textural intensity. This is such a distinctive wine.HK$9,190.00 -
Burghound (93)
(Outstanding) Here there is enough post-bottling reduction to largely mask the nuances of the more floral-suffused aromas. As is typically the case, there is more refinement but less size, weight and power to the delicious and gorgeously textured medium-bodied flavors that display excellent length on the citrus-tinged finale. This youthfully austere effort will require at least a few years of patience, but it should be well worth the wait.HK$11,080.00 -

Sweet spot Outstanding Top value Notes of smoked hazelnut, poached pear and pretty acacia blossom scents introduce sleek, intense and beautifully delineated medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate on the clean, focused, balanced and beautifully long finale. This could use a bit more depth but overall, this is a first-rate Meursault villages.HK$5,485.00 -

5 Star Wine. All domaine fruit now, from Les Chevalières, Luraule. Pelles, Casses Têtes, Petits Charrons. Pale to medium lemon yellow. A generous bouquet speaking clearly of Meursault. A broad bench of ripe white apple fruit with excellent energy, good acidity behind, and notable persistence. Very Meursault and quite delicious. Drink from 2027-2034. Burghound (95)
Smoky broad-ranging aromas are composed primarily of various white orchard fruit, acacia blossom, citrus rind, wood and a hint of exotic tea. There is an abundance of dry extract that imparts a sappy character to the concentrated, mineral-driven and wonderfully complex flavors that also display a hint of mandarin orange on the strikingly long finish that is Zen-like in its harmony. In a word, fantastic.HK$9,500.00 -
Wine Advocate (94-96)
From an enclave within the premier cru Perrières, Boillot's 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchère is utterly superb this year, wafting from the glass with aromas of lemon oil, mandarin orange, beeswax, iodine and subtle smoky reduction. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, satiny and layered, with striking volume and depth at the core, balanced by incisive acids that animate the long, mineral finish. Guillaume Boillot speculates that this monopole's comparative variety of mesoclimates and soil types lends the resulting wine greater complexity than would be the case with a small cuvée.HK$13,500.00 -

Boillot's emblematic 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchère has turned out brilliantly, wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, hazelnut, dried white flowers, citrus oil, blanched almonds and smoke. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, with terrific concentration, searing levels of extract and a long, mineral finish.HK$10,100.00
