Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet
About Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet
Even though they have been making wine since the 17th century, Benoit’s father Jean-Claude did not allow visits by critics so these wines slipped off the press radar.
Since Jean-Claude’s sons, Benoit and Jean-Baptiste, have taken over the helm, they have injected new life into the Domaine with their new cellars and cuverie. The brothers use less oak allowing their wines to express the fruit from their vineyards as fully as possible.

Wine Advocate (92+)The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Macherelles is showing especially well this year, offering up aromas of pear, lime, white flowers, toasted nuts, fresh mint and warm bread. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's seamless and complete, with excellent depth at the core and a saline finish. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-93)Mid yellow. Good fruit concentration as the vines are older, 60-70 years, and it really shows. Plenty of tension, less sunny though the fruit is attractively ripe. Very good grip here, to confirm the quality. Drink from 2027-2031. |
