Kirwan
Chateau Kirwan is named after an 18th century Irish owner who was killed in the French Revolution. This Margaux estate was under achieving for a while but the appointment of Michel Rolland in 1991 has really helped; the wine is more complex, heavier bodied and with a richer more fruit forward bouquet.

Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (89-92)Full ruby color. Vibrant, deep aromas of cassis, blackberry, minerals, licorice and smoky oak. Large-scaled and impressively rich in the mouth; chewy and very concentrated. A rather powerfully structured, nicely delineated wine that should be long-lived. Another Margaux chateau that has improved dramatically over the last few years. |
