    Château Mangot

    About Château Mangot

Nestled in the heart of the esteemed wine region of Saint-Émilion, Château Mangot is a remarkable estate with breathtaking surroundings. Its location is advantageous, as it is located nearby renowned wineries such as Château Valandraud and Château Fleur Cardinale. Château Mangot is one of the rare family-owned estates in Saint-Émilion that produces wines of exceptional quality, known for their purity, integrity, and generosity.

The Todeschini family estate manages 34 hectares of vineyards, a smaller production size compared to other Bordeaux wineries. However, their Merlot-based claret has gained a reputation for being consistently excellent. Karl Todeschini, the second-generation family member, leads the Mangot team and prioritizes nature and the environment in their winemaking methods. They utilize organic farming practices and micro-vinification and maturation techniques to highlight the individual characteristics and terroir of every grape.

The soils of the estate differ, with some parts being abundant in limestone while others are composed of clay and gravel. This variation in soil types enables the grapes to showcase a diverse spectrum of flavors and aromas, culminating in wines that are intricate, sophisticated, and absolutely delightful.

    Wine Advocate (94)

The 2020 Mangot has turned out beautifully, bursting with aromas of cherries, wild berries, rose petals, blood orange and bay leaf. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, it's pure and vibrant, with a layered core of fruit, velvety tannins and a long, mouthwateringly chalky finish. This is a brilliant wine that sells for a song and which surpasses many of its more well-known neighbors.
