Morlet
About Morlet
Luc Morlet hails from a family of winemakers in Champagne and has had tremendous success juxtaposing French viticulture with excellent fruit from the famed Californian terroir. Founding the Morlet Family Vineyards label in 2006, Luc has since elevated his wines to cult status, handcrafting limited quantities of wines from Napa Valley and Sonoma County distributed via mailing lists. He consults at Peter Michaels winery where his brother, Nicolas Morlet, is the principal winemaker.
“Morlet is not only a fabulous winemaking talent, he knows how to bring the French savoir faire of complexity, elegance and precision to the ripe, concentrated, intense fruit of California.” - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Wine Advocate)

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Cœur de Vallée has aged exceptionally well. In 2011, Cœur de Vallée was made entirely from To Kalon fruit and was a blend of nearly equal parts Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. That choice paid off big time, as the wine is absolutely exquisite. Bright floral, spice and tobacco accents lend freshness. Readers can look forward to another decade of fine drinking.HK$9,865.00 -

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Coeur de Vallee is deep garnet-purple colored. It gallops out with expressive notions of warm cassis, blackberry pie, and blueberry preserves, followed by hints of cedar chest, tilled soil, bay leaves, and iron ore. The full-bodied palate is taut, with a nice combination of bright crunchy black fruits and juicy blue fruits, supported by firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and mineral-laced. The Coeur de Vallee vineyard is in Oakville, just across the road from To Kalon, and is planted entirely to clone 4 with a small amount of Cabernet Franc (clone 1), which does well on the clay-loam soil. The 2019 blend is 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc. 1300 cases were made.HK$8,750.00HK$7,915.00 -
