Vinous (90)Sesti's 2011 Brunello di Montalcino is a rich, resonant wine with plenty of near-term appeal. Sweet tobacco, cherry, iron, dried flowers and mint all meld together in the glass. Soft, silky and ample, the 2011 is already quite delicious, although, like so many Brunellos of the vintage, it is probably best enjoyed on the younger side. |

Jancis Robinson (17.5)Tasted blind. Deep ruby with orange rim. Beautiful depth and clarity on the nose with hints of graphite. Plush, multi-layered palate with fine, polished tannins, and loads of them. Gorgeous, tangy, deep-fruit finish. Closes up quickly, indicating that this needs time. |

Hailing from the esteemed vineyards of Castello di Argiano, 'Sesti Brunello di Montalcino 2017' is a wine of exquisite craftsmanship. Created by Giuseppe Maria Sesti and his daughter Elisa, this Tuscan expression exudes the passion and expertise of this pioneering winemaking family. Hand-harvested from ancient vines, the Sangiovese grapes were fermented in Slovenian oak vats and aged for four years to reach optimal maturation. The resulting uncensored ruby red cocktail is a vinous symphony, enigmatic and expressive, a true ambassador of its Montalcino heritage. Its elegant bouquet of wild berries, dried spices, and a hint of earthiness invigorates the senses, while the palate indulges with a wonderfully balanced blend of tannins and acidity, harmony in each drop. 'Sesti Brunello di Montalcino 2017' is synonymous with the highest calibre Italian viticulture, making it an undeniable choice for the discerning wine collector. |

Vinous (88)The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Phenomena is dark and powerful, but that has been achieved with a loss of freshness. There isn’t much complexity here to speak of, nor do I see much potential for aging. Orange peel, dried cherry, mint and rosewater overtones are laced into the finish. Overall, the 2010 Riserva feels compact and tastes like an older wine than it is because the fruit is already beginning to dry out. |
