Indulge in the exceptional Thibault Liger Belair Bourgogne Aligote Clos des Perrieres la Combe 2018, a testament to the exquisite craft of an esteemed Burgundy producer. Originating from Burgundy, France, this single-vineyard Aligoté reflects the vineyard's unique microclimate and chalky, shallow soil. Careful attention to traditional biodynamic practices is a hallmark of Thibault Liger-Belair's winemaking approach, fostering harmony between the vine, soil and climate. The result is a wine that exudes an elegant finesse, vivid with intense, fresh aromas of citrus and a hint of white flowers. The palate is met with a mineral drive, complemented by a precise acidity leading to a refined, lingering finish. This 2018 vintage is a fine exhibition of both the winery's dedication to preserving the integrity of the terroir and the distinctive character of the Aligoté grape. Thibault Liger Belair Bourgogne Aligote Clos des Perrieres la Combe 2018 is indeed a stellar revelation in the world of fine wines. |

Vinous (89-92)(50% new oak; 25 hectoliters per hectare; destemmed owing to the flies): Healthy bright red. Slightly reduced aromas of dark cherry, spices and crushed rock lifted by a refined floral quality. Juicy, dry and very primary; this unforthcoming, rocky wine is hiding more than it's showing today. Best now on the perfumed, firmly tannic, lingering finish. All in reserve. The Gruenchers finished its malolactic fermentation very late and like some of the following wines it may not be racked until after the winter, with the bottling taking place as late as June or July. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-97)70% whole bunches, in the trimmed stem version. Dense black purple, and a very rich dark raspberry fruit with some black cherry. Almost exaggerated but in fact not. Thibault notes that elements of finesse became apparent later in the vinification rather than at the start which is interesting. Work at the end paid off. This becomes so much more stylish than one could imagine from the initial attack. Long classy and charming. |

Burgundy | 1 | 91-93 (VN) | HK$18,875.00
Vinous (91-93)(all destemmed): Medium red. Complex if reticent aromas of redcurrant, minerals, smoked meat and pepper. Sweet on entry, then quite firm in the middle, showing hints of candied fruit. The chewy, firm but ripe tannins really clamp down on the finish today. A distinctly intellectual calcaire style of wine. |

Vinous (91)The 2018 Corton-Renardes Grand Cru showed a slight reduction on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied, quite firm and masculine, with crisp tannins and dried blood and black pepper toward the finish. Grippy and quite savory at the moment, this is a robust Corton-Renardes that will require bottle age to shave its corners. A bit "rough" and needs to manifest more refinement. |

Burgundy | 4 | 88-90 (VN) | HK$5,655.00
Vinous (88-90)(a new wine for Liger-Belair; vinified with 40% whole clusters and aging in 40% new oak): Bright medium ruby. Even darker on the nose than the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Les Trois Terroirs, offering scents of blackberry, violet and tropical dark chocolate and brown spice flavors. Rather relaxed in the middle palate considering the tiny yield of 12 hectoliters per hectare, but finishes with a firm dusting of tannins. |

Vinous (88-90)A blend of five different parcels, the 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Village shows a bit of reduction on the nose. It eventually opens, offering bright red berry fruit with light stemmy notes from the 40% whole clusters. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, not complex but focused, showing good grip toward the bright, expressive wild strawberry and raspberry finish. Probably early-drinking but well worth seeking out. |

Vinous (87-89)The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes includes 40% whole bunch from vines planted between 1954 and 1962. It has a marine-influenced nose that needs to gel more during barrel aging. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity and good grip but requires a little more refinement. |

Burgundy | 1 | 92-94 (VN (ST)) | HK$6,820.00
Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (92-94)Bright, dark red-ruby. Vibrant aromas of blackberry, licorice and wild herbs, along with a smoky carbon suggestion. Densely packed and highly concentrated, with a firm tannic spine giving shape and definition to the fresh dark berry flavors. Plenty of stuffing here for balance but this very closed wine will probably need up to a decade of bottle aging to blossom. |

Burgundy | 1 | 93-95 (VN) | HK$11,205.00
Vinous (93-95)The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru contains 40% whole cluster from the oldest parts of the vineyard, the younger vines de-stemmed. Apparently it struggled to complete its alcoholic fermentation and had to be transferred back into barrel, where it finally finished in June 2019. It has an intriguing bouquet with brown spices and black pepper infusing the vibrant red fruit that leaps from the nose. The palate is well balanced with fine, saturated tannins. The whole bunch is very well assimilated and lends complexity and precision on the finish. Superb. |

Burgundy | 1 | 89-92 (BH) | HK$4,600.00
Burghound (89-92)A brooding and very earthy nose is more deeply pitched and very Gevrey in character. The rich, concentrated and more powerful medium-bodied flavors are firmly structured and serious while exhibiting touch of bitter pit fruit and youthful austerity on the balanced and highly persistent finish. Créots always needs time in bottle to develop and this excellent example will be no exception. Recommended |
