Picked the same day as the GG and the Spätlese on November 8 but with finely shriveled botrytis berries, the 2021 Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Auslese offers a clear and finely lemony bouquet with very fine botrytis tones, even though botrytis was less widely spread here than in the Felsenberg. On the palate, this is a rich and intense yet very precise and filigreed, refined and pure Auslese with an enormously saline and lively, long and energetic finish that shows piquant acidity. Superb. 8% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022.HK$4,835.00 -

Wonderful nose of exotic fruits and flowers. More than enough concentration, but what makes this stand out is the interplay of ripeness - floral honey as much as very ripe citrus - with a vibrant acidity that lights up the sky. Dazzling, diamond-bright finish! From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold.HK$845.00 -

If you dream of the great German rieslings of the 1970s and 1980s, then this is a wine for you, even though it is riper and more concentrated than those icons of the past. In spite of the abundant generosity, this has a very long, distinctly cool finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold.HK$2,365.00 -

What an expressive and exotic nose this remarkable Spatlese has, but that’s really the least of it. The giant energy and mineral freshness are like a whale rising from the depths and blowing water out if its spout. Then comes a cornucopia of fruit at the finish, the brilliance and finesse of which makes it really hard to describe. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold.HK$1,300.00 -

A great Spatlese that has deep apricot and mandarin orange fruit with delicate mint and tarragon aromas. Staggering vitality and brilliance on the extremely focused and precise palate. Experience the tantalising richness of the Donnhoff Schlossbockelheimer Felsenberg Riesling Spatlese R 2018. Immaculately crafted in Germany by celebrated producer, Helmut Dönnhoff, this Riesling is an exquisite exemplification of the terroir found in Nahe's Schlossböckelheimer Felsenberg vineyard. Harmonising naturally high acidity with an impeccable late-harvest ripeness, the Spätlese showcases an outstanding purity of fruit.
Evoking vivid notes of apricot, lime, and floral honey, the wine exhibits a sensational balance, while the mineral-inflected finish beautifully mirrors the volcanic soils of the Felsenberg site. Unquestionable longevity ensures fans of Dönnhoff's creations can relish the bottle's evolution over the forthcoming decade. Expertly judged sweetness, coupled with a poised, silken mouthfeel further bolsters its cool-climate provenance. Embrace the Donnhoff Schlossbockelheimer Felsenberg Riesling Spatlese R 2018, as it truly captures the splendid art of winemaking in each glass.

(1x75cl) 1966Vinous (96)
Dow’s 1966 Vintage Port is a gorgeous example of the year, offering intense, deeply concentrated cherry liqueur, toffee, candied fig, maple syrup, datecake and membrillo qualities and a vibrant, spicy overtone. Silky and seamless in texture and finely detailed, it seduces with its balance and elegance rather than opulence and power, fully in keeping with the house style. Its intense sweetness is mitigated by its sharp delineation and energy. I have no doubt that it will outlive 1962-vintage people like me. Its a wonderfully flexible Port to serve with all sorts of not-too-sweet, savory desserts and, especially, mild cow’s milk blue cheeses.HK$2,125.00 -
