Decanter (95)Dark and concentrated nose, smells ripe and heady. This has an excellent structure, right from the off you can feel and taste the density of fruit but it's so well handled and well proportioned - everything in balance. It's a rich style, full on the palate with a cooling menthol aspect to it but it has nice spicy edges and bright acidity propelling it forward. The texture stands out, smooth but present tannins giving a mouthfeel that is so appealing. One I really wanted another glass of, but it will be even better with a few more years ageing. |

Bordeaux | 7 | 91 (VN (NM)) | HK$2,325.00
Vinous - Neal Martin (91)The 2022 Boyd-Cantenac has a very attractive nose: clean and pure black fruit, crushed stone and light graphite scents percolating through with time. Great definition. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. Good depth, quite sapid in the mouth, though it cuts away swiftly on the finish. Otherwise, this is a perfectly decent Margaux that deserves two or three years in bottle. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (90)The 2023 Boyd-Cantenac has quite a concentrated nose, blackberry, melted tar and light gravely scents, just missing the delineation of its peers at the moment. The palate is soft and rounded on the entry. Decent weight, a little oaky, though I am seeking more complexity and terroir expression to come through on the finish that, again, is just a bit softish. Not bad at all, though I would just need to see more grip and backbone. |

Piedmont | 8 | 94 (WA) | HK$4,065.00
Wine Advocate (94)This historic wine put Barbera on the world wine map. It offers the richness and concentration of the Bricco della Bigotta, with the lighted style of the more immediate Montebruna. The character of the Braida 2018 Barbera d'Asti Bricco dell'Uccellone is more sophisticated and complex, with dark blackberry, toasted nutmeg and Spanish cedar. Wait for it, there's that pop of acidity on the close. Some 70,000 of these bottles were made. |

Bordeaux | 4 | 95 (WE) | HK$4,550.00
Wine Enthusiast (95)This is a marvelously complete wine, with its impressive ripe fruit, shining through the open structure. It is firm, but not too much. Stone black fruits are just perfectly ripe. There is just a core of dryness to compliment the rest of the wine. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (91)The 2002 Branaire Ducru was partly made with Philippe Dhalluin and Dominique Arangoïts, who said there was a lot of discussion about the blend at the time. It has an open-knit, earthy bouquet with black fruit, wild mint, singed leather and a touch of potpourri. The palate is medium-bodied with mainly red fruit, white pepper, clove, a slight grittiness to the tannins but with commendable depth and freshness towards the finish. Fine acidity and bite, this is a Saint-Julien that is à point. Tasted at the château. |

Bordeaux | 2 | 92 (WE) | HK$5,700.00
Wine Enthusiast (92)Taking advantage of the delicious fruit of 2006, this Branaire-Ducru shows a charming side. It brings out ripe, spicy black plums and black cherry spice to go with the lively, fresh tannins. That's not to say that there isn't structure, but today it is the fruit that dominates. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (95)The 2010 Branaire-Ducru has a lovely mélange of red and black fruit, hints of dried blood and autumn leaves suggesting that this is moving into its secondary phase. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity, good body and a fresh marine-tinged finish that is an absolute joy. There is an abiding symmetry about this wine and it is in for the long-haul. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal. |
