Silky, seamless and concentrated, with its atypical richness leavened by harmonious balancing acidity and a musky saline element. This terrific Feusselottes shows outstanding sappy energy and a long finish featuring suave tannins, a note of red licorice and excellent rising length. This should age slowly and gracefully. (I tasted two different 375-milliliter bottles of the very deeply colored and highly concentrated 2016 Echézeaux but both of my samples finished tannic and dry owing to slightly off corks.)HK$5,055.00 -

The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, and so harmonious that you would not guess that the fermentation did not begin until the beginning of December! At 14.2°, the alcohol is disguised, though it does seem to scalp some of the precision.HK$4,410.00 -

The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes 1er Cru has an attractive nose of shimmering red berry fruit tinged with shucked oyster shells and wet limestone/petrichor; the 50% new oak is neatly integrated here. The palate is succulent and fleshy on the entry, delivering all the rondeur you could want from a Chambolle-Musigny but with countervailing tension and spiciness toward the silky smooth finish. So pure! This will give 20–25 years of drinking pleasure.HK$4,710.00 -

The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes 1er Cru was 30% down due to the dry summer. A melange of red and black fruit on the nose, hints of sous-bois and espresso, this opens nicely with aeration but retains composure. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, taut and fresh with a fin bead of acidity with a pixelated finish. Wonderful.HK$5,905.00 -

It has quite a bold but exquisitely defined bouquet with plush dark cherries, bergamot and hints of bay leaf. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, cohesive and with impressive weight, tightly-packed towards the finish with a pinch of white pepper and sage on the aftertaste. The 2020 Syrah Iron has a very focused bouquet, and yes, that ferrous element underlies what are quite precise black fruit scents, hints of bilberry and a light marine influence developing with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a sappy entry, maybe a little more reduced than either the Granite or Schist; the finish is more backward and broody at the moment. Just needs a little more charm to develop.HK$790.00
