  • Raveneau Chablis 2018 (6x75cl)

    Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91)

(5-Star Wine) One plot is in Valvent opposite 1er cru Epinottes, the other opposite Forêts. There is more yellow in the colour here than the Petit Chablis, with an exceptional intensity that makes it almost hard to taste. Immaculate youthful bitterness and great length.

  • Robert Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots 2013 (12x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (88-90)

The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru les Chaignots has darker fruit on the nose than the village cru: blackberry and raspberry, light sous-bois scents emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly lactic entry, hints of mocha lining the red berry fruit with quite a forward, sumptuous finish that comes as a surprise given the vintage. This may improve once in bottle.

  • Robert Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains 2017 (6x75cl)

    Decanter (95)

Les Vaucrains is marked by its proximity to the combe at the southern end of Nuits-St-Georges, which gives the wine an added lift of freshness. Like Les St-Georges which abuts it, this is quite a firm, shuttered wine with an overlay of 30% new wood, good concentration, fine tannins and enough backbone and acidity to age.

  • Robert Sirugue Bourgogne Aligote 2015 (1x75cl)

Relish in the sophistication of the Robert Sirugue Bourgogne Aligote 2015, a definitive masterpiece hailing from the esteemed vineyards of Burgundy, France. Produced by the distinguished Maison Robert Sirugue who have been crafting gastronomic wines in Vosne-Romanée since the 1920s, this wine reflects their inimitable commitment to quality and the quintessence of their terroir. This Aligote, a grape varietal indigenous to Bourgogne, is adeptly cultivated on one hectare plot enriched by calcareous clay soil, which provides rich mineral nuances to the wine.

The Robert Sirugue Bourgogne Aligote 2015 is expertly matured for 10 months in stainless steel vats, featuring a bright and clear golden colour. Its nose is a delightful blend of floral and citrus aromas, followed by a zesty, vivacious palate with a beautifully balanced acidity. A timeless classic, it stands as a perfect companion to seafood, goat cheese, or as an aperitif. Delight in the artistry of Robert Sirugue with this sensational Bourgogne Aligote.

  • Robert Sirugue Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2015 (1x75cl)

Indulge your senses with the Robert Sirugue Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2015. Exclusive to the famed Bourgogne region in France, this wine displays the fine artistry of the Sirugue family, renowned vintners in Vosne-Romanée. This Pinot Noir boasts an enticingly velvet ruby hue, a testament to its meticulous vinification process.

The grapes are manually harvested at optimal maturity, carefully selected before a gentle destemming and fermentation. This diligent process imparts an evocative bouquet of ripe cherries, redcurrants, and hints of spice on the palate. • Robert-Denogent Pouilly-Fuisse Les Cras Cuvee Claude Denogent VV 2014 (12x75cl)

    Vinous (92+)

(bottled in August; from 85-year-old vines on marne and calcaire): Pure saline minerality on the nose. Musky, highly concentrated and densely packed, with its stone fruit and citrus flavors kept under wraps today by stony minerality and strong acidity. A very taut, sappy wine with outstanding mineral grip. The rising, palate-staining finish boasts penetrating salty minerality. Very impressive--and built to age.

  • Roche de Bellene Chambertin-Clos-de-Beze Grand Cru 2011 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (93-96)

Good bright, deep red. Aromas of black raspberry, rose petal and menthol show an almost liqueur-like ripeness. Then wonderfully sappy and vinous in the mouth, with a powerful crushed stone element giving punch to the creamy mid-palate. This is in the style of Potel's Lavaux Saint-Jaques, offering outstanding precision and class and a powerful impression of energy. Can't quite match the Chambertin for sheer grip but this wine is like a wake-up call to the taste buds. (The Griottes-Chambertin, which finished its malo later, was quite youthfully clenched and oaky, and impossible to assess with confidence.)

  • Sena 2008 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (92)

(57% cabernet sauvignon, 20% carmenere, 10% merlot, 8% petit verdot and 5% cabernet franc) Ruby-red. Musky redcurrant, cherry, spicecake and rose oil on the seductively perfumed nose. Silky, suave and fine-grained, in a distinctly elegant style. Red fruit and spice notes are complemented by a touch of bitter chocolate. The racy, dry, palate-staining finish shows full ripeness yet the wine comes off weightless. I'd bet on it rewarding at least another six or seven years of cellaring.

  • Sena 2015 (6x75cl)

    James Suckling (100)

Stunning aromas of blackcurrant, stone, blueberry and licorice. Also iodine. Floral. Perfumed. Full body, fantastic density of fruit and ripe tannins. It goes on for minutes on the palate with such energy and focus. Touch of chewiness on the finish. A complex and complete wine that delivers a generosity with firmness. Drink in 2021 but already a classic to drink.

  • Sena 2016 (6x75cl)

    James Suckling (98)

Aromas are lifted and bright in this wine with loads of blackberries and blueberries. Full body, velvety tannins. Gorgeous texture. Very pure fruit. A bright and more fundamental Seña than last vintages. Restrained at the end. 55% cabernet, 20% malbec, 12% petit verdot, 8% carmenere, 5% cabernet franc. September 2018 release. Needs three or four years of bottle age.

  • Sena 2018 (6x75cl)

    James Suckling (100)

This is a very thoughtful Seña that shows unique aromas of warm earth, mushrooms and conifer, turning to dark berries and black olives. The palate is more glamorous with ultra-fine tannins that envelop your palate. Shows power and vibrancy at the end. Toned muscles. It’s a very intellectual wine that harkens back to the 2015. Blend of 55% cabernet sauvignon, 18% malbec, 15% carmenere, 7% cabernet franc and 5% merlot.

  • Sylvain Cathiard Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts 2012 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (94)

Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts from winemaker Sebastian Cathiard was showing some reduction like de Montille's Malconsorts: rather animally on the nose with a touch of rubber, missing the delineation it might have otherwise possessed. Returning after ten minutes, that feral aspect ebbs away. The palate is medium-bodied with supple and sweet tannin. It shakes off that reduction to reveal a nicely defined, quite voluminous finish that is bursting with red fruit. If it does pull through it will deserve a very good mark and I suspect it will do just that.

  • Vougeraie 1er Cru Le Clos Blanc de Vougeot Monopole 2017 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (92+)

There are 13,053 bottles of Domaine de la Vougeraie's superb 2017 Vougeot 1er Cru Le Clos Blanc de Vougeot, representing a modest yield for this emblematic monopole. Opening in the glass with a pretty bouquet of fresh green pear, peach, mandarin oil and petrol, framed by a discreet touch of nutty new oak, the wine is medium to full-bodied, racy and precise, with a delicate and elegantly tight-knit core of fruit and a long, precise finish. As readers may know, small percentages of Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc complement Chardonnay in this cuvée.

  • Vougeraie Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Damodes 2015 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (90-93)

(in fût; the malolactic fermentation finished in July): Good medium red. Pure but subdued aromas of currant, black cherry, smoky stone, licorice and violet. Intensely flavored and evolving slowly, combining a restrained sweetness and good salty minerality. Darker in its fruit character than the Clos de Thorey. The wine's strong, spicy, tannic finish calls for more élevage.

  • William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses 2012 (6x75cl)

    Burghound (96)

This is arguably the most elegant wine in the range with its ultra-pure aromas of quinine, oyster shell, mineral reduction and floral elements that are also trimmed in just enough wood to warrant commenting on it. There is a caressing, even seductive mouth feel to the beautifully well-delineated and concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess an almost delicate quality before culminating in a nearly startlingly explosive finish that just goes on and on. This bone dry effort is an exercise in harmony and grace, or otherwise expressed, a classic Preuses. In a word, brilliant.
