Vinous (93-95)
The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru contains 60% whole bunches. It comes from three plots that, still, only made two and a half barrels this year. It has a very well defined bouquet that seems to blossom in the glass, although it will need some time for the stems to be assimilated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very peppery in style with touches of white pepper and bay leaf towards the persistent finish. This is a classy wine, one that is not unlike Dujac’s Echézeaux!HK$32,000.00 -
Jancis Robinson (18)
Cask sample. Mid dark crimson. Sweet oak spice entwined with really ripe cherry fruit. Dark, dry finesse on the palate. Extremely elegant but all hidden at the moment. Plenty of freshness like a seam through the dark, dry youthful reticence.HK$14,200.00 -
Vinous (92-95)
A rich, deeply layered wine, the 2012 Echezeaux covers every corner of the palate. Dark red cherries, plums, menthol, licorice, smoke and new leather are some of the many notes that blossom in a wine that stands out for its superb balance and potential. This is another wine with significant promise for the future.HK$30,200.00 -
Vinous (94-97)
Good medium ruby. High-pitched violet perfume lifts the aroma of ripe black cherry. Wonderfully suave, intense and refined, with a pungently fresh quality that reminded me of cut grass. This highly concentrated wine has perfectly integrated acidity, as well as a stronger limestone character than usual. In a rather masculine style but also seamless and suave. Finishes with outstanding length and class, the tannins totally buffered by fruit and minerals. Mounir Saouma noted that this wine has been great since the beginning.HK$26,860.00 -
Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (90-93)
Good deep red. Slightly reduced aromas of strawberry, smoke, mocha and minerals. Supple and sweet, but with a peppery element and firm tannic spine giving shape to the raspberry and strawberry fruit. Finishes solid, aromatic and long, with tannins that reach the front teeth.HK$2,300.00 -
Exhibiting grandeur and elegance, the Philippe Pacalet Echezeaux Grand Cru 2017 hails from the prestigious vineyards of Burgundy, France. Renowned winemaking artisan Philippe Pacalet employs traditional, organic practices to craft wines that sing of their terroir. This opulent Pinot Noir, matured for 16 months in old French oak barrels, astonishes with its complexity and length. With aromas of ripe red cherries, lavender and rich loamy earth, the bouquet is merely a precursor of the sensual flavours contained within.
On the palate, the Philippe Pacalet Echezeaux Grand Cru 2017 offers a captivating medley of decadent black fruits, subtle spices and velvety tannins. An alluring balance of power and elegance, underscored by a remarkable minerality and freshness, it typifies Pacalet's respect for nature and prowess in winemaking. Savour this outstanding embodiment of Burgundy’s esteemed Echezeaux Grand Cru, a wine of class, harmony and enduring appeal.

Vinous (93-96)
Good bright, deep red. Aromas of black raspberry, rose petal and menthol show an almost liqueur-like ripeness. Then wonderfully sappy and vinous in the mouth, with a powerful crushed stone element giving punch to the creamy mid-palate. This is in the style of Potel's Lavaux Saint-Jaques, offering outstanding precision and class and a powerful impression of energy. Can't quite match the Chambertin for sheer grip but this wine is like a wake-up call to the taste buds. (The Griottes-Chambertin, which finished its malo later, was quite youthfully clenched and oaky, and impossible to assess with confidence.)HK$12,000.00
