Vinous (93-95)
The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru contains 60% whole bunches. It comes from three plots that, still, only made two and a half barrels this year. It has a very well defined bouquet that seems to blossom in the glass, although it will need some time for the stems to be assimilated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very peppery in style with touches of white pepper and bay leaf towards the persistent finish. This is a classy wine, one that is not unlike Dujac’s Echézeaux!HK$32,000.00 -
Vinous (92-95)
A rich, deeply layered wine, the 2012 Echezeaux covers every corner of the palate. Dark red cherries, plums, menthol, licorice, smoke and new leather are some of the many notes that blossom in a wine that stands out for its superb balance and potential. This is another wine with significant promise for the future.HK$30,200.00 -
Wine Advocate (98+)
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2012 Shiraz The Armagh offers a gorgeous perfume of baking spices, violets, Sichuan pepper and fragrant earth. More earthy and savory in the mouth than on the nose, the palate is superbly structured and taut—built for the long-haul—with a long, complex finish. Still very youthfully, forget this wine for 3-5 more years and consider drinking it over the next 20+.HK$9,770.00 -
Wine Advocate (92-94)
The 2015 Echézeaux Grand Cru, of which there are two barrels this year, has a fragrant wild strawberry, Morello and woodland-scented bouquet that is beautifully defined and neatly enmeshed with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied, here showing a little more of the wood influence than the nose, though there is good depth with a slightly savory finish that just needs to develop more persistence once in bottle. There is energy packed into this Echézeaux and I can see it repaying those sage enough to cellar it for 6-8 years.HK$2,500.00 -
Wine Advocate (97)
The 2005 Shiraz “Attunga 1865” is sourced from ungrafted vines planted in the Clare Valley in 1865. It spent 25 months in 100% new French oak hogsheads and was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Opaque purple/black, it reveals an ethereal bouquet of crushed rocks, acacia flowers, espresso, mocha, black cherry, and blackberry. This leads to a powerful, intense, yet elegant wine with a very long, seamless finish. This beautifully balanced effort will excite tasters over the next 25 years. Kilikanoon’s winemaker is the talented Kevin Mitchell. The house specialty is Shiraz but Mitchell does equally well with Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Grenache.HK$5,000.00 -
Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (90-93)
Good deep red. Slightly reduced aromas of strawberry, smoke, mocha and minerals. Supple and sweet, but with a peppery element and firm tannic spine giving shape to the raspberry and strawberry fruit. Finishes solid, aromatic and long, with tannins that reach the front teeth.HK$2,300.00 -
Exhibiting grandeur and elegance, the Philippe Pacalet Echezeaux Grand Cru 2017 hails from the prestigious vineyards of Burgundy, France. On the palate, the Philippe Pacalet Echezeaux Grand Cru 2017 offers a captivating medley of decadent black fruits, subtle spices and velvety tannins. An alluring balance of power and elegance, underscored by a remarkable minerality and freshness, it typifies Pacalet's respect for nature and prowess in winemaking. Vinous (96)
Opaque ruby. Intensely perfumed cherry and dark berry aromas are complicated by suggestions of black pepper, incense, licorice and Moroccan spices. Subtly chewy, broad and alluringly sweet, offering densely packed blackberry, bitter cherry, fruitcake, lavender and cola flavors and a spicy nuance that builds with aeration. The extremely long, floral- and spice-driven finish shows outstanding clarity and suave, harmonious tannins and closing grip.HK$1,180.00
