The outstanding 2018 White Stones Chardonnay epitomizes the expression of the grape in the cooler-climate and high-altitude location of the Adrianna vineyard in Gualtallary. There is rectitude, austerity and elegance, a subtle wine with great clout and intensity that comes through as chiseled, focused, symmetric and pure, more in the style of Roulot than Coche-Dury, with superb integration of all the elements and fine minerality. This is more about the place and vintage than the grape, which feels like a good way to transmit the chalky soils of the selected plots. The 2018 La Salvación is the only white produced by César Márquez in his personal project. It's pure Godello from two plots—one plot in Arganza regrafted from old Mencía to Godello 12 years ago and some 15% to 20% from another plot in Villafranca where there are some Godello old vines in between the Mencía. The destemmed grapes fermented and matured in 500-liter oak barrels, where the wine rested with the lees without bâtonnage for around one year. The wine was a little closed and shy and needed some time to take off—it's subtle, elegant and insinuating. In the future, he might do a single-vineyard white once he finds the right plot. The palate is serious and soil-driven, tasty, almost salty, with very focused flavors. 2018 delivered a good crop, and 1,358 bottles were produced. Each vintage has been different (2015 had flor, 2016 was sharp, and 2017 was a little more exuberant), and this is the most serous and complete to date. It should age nicely in bottle.HK$1,780.00 -

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is dark, ample and totally seductive. Black cherry, mocha, plum, spice, new leather and tobacco all meld together. Pliant and supple, the 2016 is already incredibly delicious. This is an especially mid-weight wine and style. Accordingly, the 2016 Estate will drink well with minimal cellaring. The Estate was bottled just two months before this tasting. I imagine it will put on some weight with further time in bottle. If awards were given out for sensuality, this gem would take the trophy. Incredibly sexy, with its velvet drenched textures, silky tannins and opulent personality, this wine stands out in a crowd. The nose, with its aromatic display of flowers, plums, cherries, espresso, licorice, dark cocoa and oyster shell is compelling. The seamless finish crosses the 60 second mark with its non-stop display of concentrated, perfectly ripe, dark sweet, red fruits, chocolate, licorice and spice. If you can afford it, it is a wine you should have in your cellar and you'll want to age this for at least 15 years before popping a bottle. Le Lucciole is an elevated version of Predappio, sourcing from the 0.8 hectare parcel of Raggio Brusa vineyard. Perched at the lofty altitude of 350 meters, this vineyard is unique in its East-facing situation and poor soils. 100% Sangiovese, this is a very special Italian born-and-bred wine of sensational quality.

I see the pure, vibrant fruit of the 2013, but with more finessed tannins that add to the wine's feeling of real sensuality.
