One of Italy's most iconic bottlings, the 2012 Sassicaia is drop-dead gorgeous. A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, it boasts sensations of blue flowers, cedar, juicy red currants, ripe raspberries, white pepper and a balsamic note. Structured, radiant and loaded with finesse, it delivers everything you'd expect from a world-class wine and more. Drink 2018–2032.HK$12,300.00 -

Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts from winemaker Sebastian Cathiard was showing some reduction like de Montille's Malconsorts: rather animally on the nose with a touch of rubber, missing the delineation it might have otherwise possessed. Returning after ten minutes, that feral aspect ebbs away. The palate is medium-bodied with supple and sweet tannin. It shakes off that reduction to reveal a nicely defined, quite voluminous finish that is bursting with red fruit. If it does pull through it will deserve a very good mark and I suspect it will do just that.HK$52,888.00 -

This is a fantastic and refined Blanc de Blancs. So layered and complex, with lemon curd, chalk, hazelnuts, pastries, baked apples and almond croissants. Structured and tightly wound, with almost imperceptible bubbles. Delicious salty notes at the end. Beautiful. Drink or hold.HK$8,499.00 -

Tasted blind at the Valandraud vertical at the property, the 2012 Valandraud instantly demonstrated the wide gap in quality between itself and the previous vintage. It is a blend of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc matured for 28 months in 100% new oak. It has a primal and concentrated bouquet with intense blackberry, bilberry and graphite aromas that gain intensity in the glass, and yet remain strict and linear. The palate is medium-bodied with brittle tannin that impart a chalky texture. There is plenty of clean and crisp blackberry and raspberry fruit here, pencil lead and a touch of chalk towards the precise and vivid finish. The energy is palpable in this Saint Emilion, a quite stupendous wine from Jean-Luc and Murielle that must stand as one of the best on the Right Bank. This comes strongly recommended, although it still needs plenty of time. Tasted December 2016.HK$12,500.00 -

With a slight preponderance of Pinot Noir in the blend, this wine is rich and impressive. It is still young, with a crisp edge that makes the fruit shine. Apple and citrus flavors are integrated into a mineral vein. Drink from 2022.HK$7,700.00 -
Burghound (96)
This is arguably the most elegant wine in the range with its ultra-pure aromas of quinine, oyster shell, mineral reduction and floral elements that are also trimmed in just enough wood to warrant commenting on it. There is a caressing, even seductive mouth feel to the beautifully well-delineated and concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess an almost delicate quality before culminating in a nearly startlingly explosive finish that just goes on and on. This bone dry effort is an exercise in harmony and grace, or otherwise expressed, a classic Preuses. In a word, brilliant.HK$5,725.00 -

Saturated ruby. Spice- and smoke-accented black currant and boysenberry aromas are complicated by suggestions of pipe tobacco, licorice and cedary oak. Smooth and appealingly sweet on the palate, offering sappy, oak-spiced black and blue fruit and violet pastille flavors that deepen and spread out steadily in the midpalate. Concentrated yet graceful in style, showing impressive energy and power on an impressively long, gently tannic finish that leaves spicecake and licorice notes behind.HK$9,265.00 -
Bob Campbell MW (97)
Marries elegance with depth and power, elegance controlling the union. Whereas oak is often very obvious in young Michael releases, here it is just a veneer for the supple plum, black cherry and blackberry fruits, the tannins likewise perfectly pitched. Coonawarra didn't miss out on the great '12 vintage.HK$4,300.00 -

A dry white wine made from two-thirds Semillon and one-third Sauvignon from the vineyards of Yquem, Ygrec was first introduced in 1959, and around 1,000 cases are produced each year. An exquisite white Bordeaux, while it does possess a high level of residual sugar (8%-9%), 90% of the people who taste it would say it is completely dry because of its high acids and low pH. A brilliant effort, the 2012 was harvested between September 25 and October 25. It should drink well for 8-12 years.HK$1,300.00 -

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, the 2012 Agincourt possesses a deep garnet-purple color and notes of crushed blackberries, black cherries and blueberries with hints of violets, pencil lead and Provence herbs. Light to medium-bodied, the palate is wonderfully structured with firm, fine-grained tannins and great freshness plus enough muscular fruit to flesh out this modestly weighted wine. It finishes with great length.HK$430.00 -

Opening with a gorgeous, white blossom-laced perfume, the 2012 Carrodus Viognier is scented of peach blossoms, frangipani and spiced pears with suggestions of baker's year and acacia honey. Medium to full-bodied and wonderfully concentrated on the palate, it gives tons of honeyed and spiced stone-fruit flavors with just enough acidity to lift this creamy textured wine to a long finish.HK$9,000.00
