I had tasted this wine from barrel last year, and the wine was already shaping up beautifully back then. Staying the course, the 2015 Barolo Bricco Boschis shows extreme elegance and finesse. These are the characteristics of what is surely one of the most beautiful vineyard sites in Barolo. The Bricco Boschis cru affords a panoramic view onto much of the Langhe, with snowcapped Alps in the background. Barolo from Castiglione Falletto tends to show characteristics that are very fine, precise and linear. That's fundamentally what you get here despite the more exuberant and fleshy 2015 vintage. Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Gresy l'Altro Moscato 2003 is an exquisite Piedmont product by the renowned Marchesi di Gresy estate. Seated in the Langhe and Monferrato zones, the estate cultivates excellence under the guidance of premier winemaker, Alberto di Gresy. Using a blend of modern and traditional techniques, this 2003 vintage emanates a balanced taste profile.
This Moscato Bianco grape expression is a blend of exuberance and subtlety. Harvested from 35-year-old vines, it underwent cool fermentation to maintain its inherent aromatic qualities. It exhibits crystal clarity with enchanting straw yellow reflections. Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Gresy l'Altro Moscato 2003 delights the senses with enchanting citrus and floral aromas, beautifully balanced by the fresh acidity and lingering sweetness, typical of fine Moscato. A marvellous testament to the winemaker's skill, the l'Altro Moscato 2003 is best appreciated when young but could equally please with age, demonstrating the depth and complexity of Italian Moscato wines.

The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity and good grip. A saline finish urges you back for another sip. This is a commendable Cissac that makes the most of the vintage. Rich yet lithe on the palate, offering sweet black raspberry and cola flavors and an intense note of candied lavender. Made in a rich yet graceful style, finishing with superb clarity and length and sneaky tannins that come on late. The 2008 Clos Fourtet has a tightly wound bouquet with raspberry, cranberry and light tertiary aromas, a touch of bell pepper in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin. This Clos Fourtet boasts impressive body, almost sinewy in style, a backward 2008 Saint Émilion from Mathieu Cuvelier although I was smitten by its persistent spicy aftertaste. I’ve been lucky enough to have the 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Deus ex Machina numerous times over the past year, and while still youthful, it’s starting to shows hints of evolution and secondary nuances. Cassis, crushed rocks, graphite, beef blood and iron-like aromas and flavors are all present here, and it offers incredible depth and richness on the palate, with gorgeous purity, masses of tannin and a rock-star finish.
