Burghound (95)An elegant, pure and broad-ranging nose is composed of very fresh, cool and airy aromas of both red and dark currant, spice and earth scents where the wood treatment is admirably subtle if again not invisible. There is a lovely mouth feel to the attractively intense and well-concentrated flavors that coat the palate with dry extract before culminating in a refined, well-balanced and beautifully persistent finish. Like the Griotte this is an overtly robust and powerful wine that will require an even longer snooze in a cool cellar. |

Wine Advocate (95+)Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2013 Alte Reben Shiraz is opening out into a bold, pure, pepper and licorice-laced nose over a core of black cherries and crushed blueberries with a touch of dried herbs. Full, rich and yet with plenty of freshness, this is a wine with great concentration, nice ripe tannins and a tantalizing finish. Yum! |

Wine Advocate (100)Little can be added to the greatness of the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Vin, a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine (600 cases) is truly stunning in its dense, crème de cassis and blackberry-scented nose with a hint of barbecue smoke and forest floor. Tasting like a ripe vintage of Château Latour from Pauillac, the wine has amazing richness and a savory, expansive mouthfeel, but tiptoes across the palate like a ballerina. A wine of magnificent richness and intensity, but vibrancy, purity and overall equilibrium, this is a staggeringly great wine and another tribute to the Kapcsándy family’s extraordinary professionalism and meticulous attention to detail in their vineyard. |

Vinous (100)The 2013 Roberta's Reserve is just as compelling it has always been. Dark, powerful and exotic, the 2013 Roberta's tastes like it has barely budged since I tasted it last year. Intense dark fruit, chocolate, smoke, licorice and tobacco are front and center. Exceptionally polished and towering in its structure, the 2013 will drink well for many, many years. The tannins soften a bit with time in the glass, but the 2013 remains a young wine in need of cellaring. |

Vinous - Ian D'Agata (88-90)Dark ruby. Bright blackcurrant and cherry aromas are complicated by violet and cedar: strikes me as deeper and richer nose than usual for Kirwan. Then somewhat more brooding in the mouth, with an austere quality but sneaky concentration to the herbal and inky dark fruit flavors. I like this wine's very fresh delivery of fruit, but the mouthcoating, building tannins keep the score down a bit. |

Vinous (92)The 2013 Coddington Chardonnay has one of the most Burgundy-like aromatics of recent years, well defined with touches of smoke and granite. The balanced palate offers a saline entry, moderate acidity, hints of tangy marmalade and clementine and a nicely poised, lightly spiced finish. Very fine. Tasted at the Kumeu River Chardonnay vertical in London. |

James Suckling (95)This is a vivid wine with terrific clarity and vibrance aromas and flavors. Full body, ultra fine tannins and a long, long finish. Class. Really superb for the vintage. Needs two or three years of bottle age to soften. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2013 L'Evangile is one of the more textured, layered wines of the year. Mocha, cloves, plums and black cherries meld together in a wine with considerable richness and vivid, expressive fruit. The 100% new French oak is impeccably integrated for a wine of this age. Raspberry jam, wild flowers and sweet spices linger on the close. This is a terrific showing, especially for the vintage. The 2013 is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, brought in from September 27 to early October. |

Exquisitely crafted, the L'If 2013 stands as a testament to exemplary wine-making in the historical region of Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux. The renowned Thienpont family, owners of the preeminent Le Pin and Vieux Château Certan vineyards, produced this magnificent libation. Combining traditional methods with modern techniques, they cultivated Merlot grapes in the region's chalky, iron-rich soil. The result is a bold, complexly flavoured wine. The L'If 2013 boasts an impressive nose filled with notes of blackberries, truffle, and a hint of toasted bread. On the palate, it is dense, well-structured, and offers a lengthy, satisfying finish. With an ageing potential of more than 20 years, one can expect the L'If 2013 to evolve magnificently, reaching new levels of finesse and sophistication. As an exemplar of Bordeaux's finest, the L'If 2013 is not just a wine – it is a journey through a distinguished vineyard's quest for perfection. |

The La Couspaude 2013, a premium Saint-Emilion Bordeaux, exudes a genuinely unique character for any wine enthusiast's palate. Produced and bottled by the Aubert Family, this exquisite wine is an illustrious blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Sourced from a vintage of only seven hectares, endowed with limestone and clay soils, this grand Saint-Emilion Grand Cru was matured 18 months in new French oak barrels, lending it a phenomenal structure. A convergence of rich, plummy fruit and opulent spice notes offer a captivating complexity on the nose, followed by an equally expressive mouthful; generous, intense, with a gracefully enduring finish, befitting its noble lineage. Akin to its predecessors, the La Couspaude 2013 ardently maintains an unerring proportion between depth and elegance, firmly cementing its standing as a cherished member of the Aubert Family wine portfolio. A stunning choice for any serious fine wine collection. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (91-94)One of the true stand outs of the vintage, the 2013 La Fleur-Pétrus is superb. Graphite, violets, lavender, savory herbs, smoke and purplish fruit all meld together in a wine of incomparable grace. The La Fleur-Pétrus impresses for its textural elegance, volume and sheer class. It is without question one of the wines of the year. These pebbly, well-draining soils handled the vintage as well as could have been expected. |

Wine Advocate (93)One of the wines of the vintage is the Grenache-dominated 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Chaupin. Coming mostly from a cool terroir in the northeast corner of the appellation (just to the east of Beaucastel), this wine is vinified with a small portion of stems and aged mostly in foudre (one-third is in demi-muids). It has gorgeous Grenache flair in its black raspberry, garrigue, spring flower and licorice scented bouquet. This gives way to a medium to full-bodied, elegant, and layered 2013 that has more texture and sweet fruit than just about every other wine in the vintage. I'd drink it anytime over the coming 4-5 years, but it will have 10-15 years of overall longevity. |

Rhone | 1 | 94 (WA) | HK$6,640.00
Wine Advocate (94)While the cuvée Chaupin comes mostly from sandy soils, the 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Vieilles Vignes comes more from the rolled pebble soils the region is famous for, and always shows the richer, more powerful profile imparted from these soils. Mostly foudre-aged Grenache, it incorporates 20% Mourvèdre and roughly 10% Syrah (slightly more Syrah in 2013) that’s raised all in barrel. Exhibiting a deep purple color, it offers fabulous dark berry fruits, licorice, Provençal herbs and earthy/stony minerality on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, ripe and with impressive sweetness to its tannin, it's a fabulous wine that will have 10-15 years of overall longevity. |

Decanter (98)Such a fantastic nose of delicious currants, this wine is elegant and refined. The palate does not disappoint and displays harmonious notes of liquorice and baking spices on top of the luscious black fruit. A wine to go wild for. |

Bordeaux | 4 | 94 (JS) | HK$8,730.00
James Suckling (94)The thing that impresses here is the long finish of subtle currant, chocolate and walnut. Full body, silky tannins and a bright finish. Lingers and satisfies. Hints of oyster shell and walnut. Drink or hold. |

Vinous - Ian D'Agata (93-96)(76% semillon and 24% sauvignon blanc; 46 h/h yield): Bright, pale yellow-gold. Subtly complex aromas of white stone fruits, lime, nut oil, nutmeg, menthol and bitter grapefruit. A huge, deep wine with laser-like acidity lifting the highly concentrated tropical fruit, white peach, spice and herb flavors. As youthfully chewy, thick and palate-staining as this is, it's also wonderfully light on its feet, showing uncommon class. One of the ten best Bordeaux wines of the year. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (88-90)Haut-Bailly's 2013 La Parde Haut-Bailly impresses for its silky tannins and feminine, gracious personality. Raspberries, crushed flowers and sweet spices are some of the many notes that flesh out in an inviting, fruit-driven red that will drink well right out of the gate. The blend is 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. |

Vinous (94)The 2013 Barbaresco Vigneto Gallina is a great introduction to the vintage at La Spinetta. Gallina tends to give open, soft Barbarescos that drink well young. Not here. The 2013 is unusually bright, tense and focused for this wine, with darker fruit and more tightly wound personality than I am used to seeing. Dark red cherry, mint, wild flowers and spices come together, but the 2013 is going to need time to fully come together. Even today, though, it is striking. There is a spherical breadth to the 2013 that is impossible to miss. |

Vinous (94+)La Spinetta fans won't want to miss the 2013 Barbaresco Vigneto Starderi, but readers will have to be patient, as the Starderi is going to need time. The only question is how much. Classic bright red fruit notes typical of Starderi are matched by equally characteristic, imposing tannins that need time to soften. Linear, taut and pulsing with energy, the 2013 is full of potential for those who can wait. |

Vinous (93+)The 2013 Barbaresco Vigneto Valeirano is a powerhouse. Tannic, rough around the edges and virile in its expression, the 2013 is going to need at least few years in bottle to shed some of its tannin. The flavors are deep and boldly sketched, with the acidity of the vintage and the incisive Treiso tannins adding brightness throughout. Sweet dark cherries, cinnamon, new leather and menthol meld into the powerful, tannic finish. |

Vinous (94+)La Spinetta's 2013 Barolo Campè is bright, intense and driven, with beams of acidity and tannin that give the wine its shape. In 2013, the Campè offers a good bit of tension and overall structure that works to balance the overt fruit that is such a Spinetta signature. Even so, the palate feel is one of creaminess and supple texture, which makes this a rare 2013 that will drink well with minimal cellaring. Sweet red cherry, plum, spice, menthol, rose petal and anise meld into the super-expressive finish. This is another impressive Barolo from La Spinetta. The 2013 was aged in a combination of cask, new French oak and used French oak. |

Wine Advocate (91)The 2013 La Violette has a perfumed bouquet with candied orange peel infusing the red berry fruit, a touch of confectionary shop here, nicely defined and gaining intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with tannin, sappy red berry fruit, a hint of spice, nice cohesion as its leads into what for La Violette is a relatively lean finish, but it retains lovely balance and joie de vivre. Drink this now and over the next decade. |
