  • Lynch-Bages 2010 (6x75cl)

    James Suckling (98-99)

What incredible precision and clarity here. Currants, mineral, mint and lead pencil. Full body, with super refined tannins and a long, long finish. I am loving this young wine. It just builds on the palate. Goes so long. 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot.

  • Lynch-Moussas 2010 (6x75cl)

    Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (93)

Dark fruits, raspberry leaf and savoury blueberry fruits, punches of redcurrant, clearly an extremely impressive vintage for the property. Ready to begin drinking now, with cloves, cinnamon, liquorice and tobacco leaf, this is unfussy and enjoyable. 50% new oak for ageing.

  • Magdelaine 2010 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2010

    Wine Spectator (97)

Plump, with a big core of plum and cherry. Long and silky, with a weighty finish. Typically two-thirds from calcaire and one-third from clay, but equal parts in 2010 due to replanting of some blocks. Tasted non-blind. Score range: 94-97
  • Magrez Fombrauge 2010 (6x75cl)
    (6x75cl) 2010

    Wine Advocate (95)

Dense purple, with notes of blackberry, white chocolate, mulberry and toasty oak, this is a full-bodied, massive, rich, thick and unctuously textured wine with outstanding purity, richness and headiness. Of course, there’s always criticism that wines like this don’t age, but I own the 2000, and it is still an infant at 13 years of age, so I don’t think that’s an issue. This wine needs a good 5-6 years of cellaring and should keep for 20-25 years at the minimum.
  • Malescot St. Exupery 2010 (12x75cl)

    James Suckling (96-97)

This is a 2005 Malescot in the making. And that was stunning. I love the blueberries, chocolate and nuts on the nose and palate. The finish lasts for minutes with so much . Goes on and on. I want to drink this! Wow.

  • Margaux 2010 (12x75cl)

    The Wine Cellar Insider (100)

The perfume teases you with its depth and intensity of what’s to come with its aromas of violets, smoky oak, licorice, earth, vanilla and mélange of dark berries. From the first sip, the wine coats your palate and taste buds with pure, fresh, rich, thick, polished blackberries, silky tannins and a finish that builds and expands for close to 60 seconds! The wine continued to build and expand in the glass for the two hours we spent with the wine over lunch.

Intense blackberry and mineral character, with flowers. Full and very chewy, with beautiful fine tannins. Long depth and balanced.
  • Maucaillou 2010 (12x75cl)

    Wine Enthusiast (89)

88-90 Acidity and fresh fruit are out of balance with smoky wood. The wine will need to integrate in the coming months, although all the elements are there.

  • Monbousquet 2010 (12x75cl)

    Jeb Dunnuck (95)

A gorgeous wine, the 2010 Château Monbousquet has a perfumed, complex bouquet of ripe black fruits, white truffle, leather, and savory floral nuances. Beautifully textured, full-bodied, ripe, and concentrated, yet with a light, velvety mouthfeel, it's drinking at point, with another decade of longevity. Drink 2025-2035.

  • Montrose 2010 (12x75cl)

    Jeb Dunnuck (100)

The 2010 Château Montrose is just now starting to drink well, though bottles from my cellar remain stubbornly backward and closed. This showing, however, revealed rocking levels of cassis, graphite, spring flowers, crushed stone, and spicy leather. Full-bodied, incredibly pure, and balanced, it has a seamless mouthfeel, tons of ripe tannins, and a gorgeous, layered finish. It’s a riveting, multi-dimensional Montrose that ranks with the true greats of the vintage. It deserves another decade of bottle age and will see the turn of the century in fine form. Drink 2035-2100.

  • Moulin Saint-Georges 2010 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2010

    Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (95)

Even the colour is very different from the 2009, this is the powerful, intense, a ton of chocolate, great quality, with undergrowth and spiced rosemary, with violet and peony character. Cabernet Franc is speaking with a loudest voice here. Needs carafing to really oen, these tannins are still pretty front of month.

Medium-deep yellow-gold. Captivating nose offers pear and apple aromas, plus more exotic hints of pineapple and spicy botrytis. Bright and fresh on the palate, with excellent vibrancy to the flavors of pineapple, candied apricot, honey and tea leaf. Finishes with lovely floral lift and sound acidity.

  • Ormes de Pez 2010 (12x75cl)

    Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (94)

This was in a carafe for at least five hours before tasting, and is a good reminder that you should not be nervous to leave these in contact with oxygen - the architecture can easily hold the fruit. Pretty spicy overall, full of tannic grip, dark and plush plum and greengage fruits, sage, cinnamon and crayon. Delicious, such a great value wine, one of the 'open now' wines of the tasting, exactly what you hope for when heading towards this price point of wine, and so rarely get.

  • Palmer 2010 (12x75cl)

    Jeb Dunnuck (98)

The 2010 Château Palmer offers a beautiful nose (it reminds me of the 2022, surprisingly) with darker black and blue fruits, violets, saddle leather, and incense notes, as well as a concentrated, rich, full-bodied style on the palate. It stays focused and pure, with beautiful tannins, a complex, layered texture, and a ripe, sexy profile that’s already impossible to resist. I might give the nod to the 2009 here, but this is a riveting Palmer that has so much to love. Drink bottles any time over the coming 3-4 decades. Drink 2025-2065.

2010's outstanding quality marked 2 back-to-back showcase years for Bordeaux. A very dry growing season led to an immense concentration of fruit, tannins and acidity. These wines are less approachable in youth than the more opulent 2009s, with 2010s compared to 2005s, but with greater structural intensity.
