Vinous (96)The estate's 2008 Lupicaia was beautiful a year ago, and it is just as beautiful today. Over the last twelve months the tannins have begun to soften but the aromas remain quite primary. Mocha, espresso, menthol, tar, asphalt and licorice all flow through to the huge, layered finish. The 2008 is going to be a jewel of a wine. In 2008 the blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. |

Vinous (95)Beautifully resonant in the glass, the 2009 Lupicaia is a standout. Sweet red cherries, flowers, mint, anise, savory herbs and spices all ring out in a supple, gracious wine loaded with class. The 2009 needs a few years for some of the contours to soften, but it is a gorgeous wine with tons of personality. This is a decidedly round, sexy Lupicaia that is going to offer plenty of enjoyment over the course of the next fifteen years or so. |

Wine Advocate (95)The 2010 Lupicaia is another fruit-forward vintage, showing great intensity and depth. What makes this wine unique is its streamlined and focused nature. Overall, it is a ripe, generous and very intense wine with rich flavors and concentration. The integrated tannins are dusty and fine. It would pair well with rich and gamey meats like liver, innards or venison. |

Vinous (94+)A bold, racy wine, the 2012 Lupicaia packs a serious punch. Succulent red cherry, plum, licorice, spice, leather, menthol and blood orange infuse this exotic, flamboyantly ripe wine. A host of expressive floral/savory notes give the 2012 its distinctive upper register. In 2012, Lupicaia is bright and also more understated than it can be. Time in the bottle tends to do wonders for this top-flight Tuscan red. The 2012 should be fabulous starting in another few years, give or take. |

Red cherries, raspberries, flowers and spices are intermingled with suggestions of tobacco, licorice and earthiness that linger in the background. The wine reveals incredible length, and sweet, silky tannins that caress the palate all the way through to the close. In a word: Awesome. There's not much else to say except that the Chianti Classico Castello di Ama is highly recommended. Castello di Ama is 80% Sangiovese plus Malvasia Nera, Merlot and Canaiolo. |

Vinous (97)The 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto La Casuccia is fabulous. A heady, opulent wine, the 2018 possesses tremendous energy to match its explosive personality. The plush fruit and soft, silky curves are pure Casuccia. The 2018 needs at least a handful of years in bottle, as it is a wine that only truly blossoms with time. |

Vinous (100)The 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto La Casuccia is stunning. What a wine! In this vintage, the aromatics are huge and expansive, a theme that comes through on the palate as well. Cedar, tobacco, dried leaves, incense and blood orange all race out of the glass. The 2019 is mind-blowing in its intensity, pedigree and overall balance. It's the wine of the vintage in Chianti Classico. |

Tuscany | 2 | 95 (WA) | HK$3,855.00
Wine Advocate (95)The 2015 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione San Lorenzo represents a blend of some of the estate's best Sangiovese from vines that are 20 years old and more. You do feel that extra density, intensity and complexity within the very fiber of this beautiful wine. The effect is deep and layered. Castello di Ama is characterized by limestone clay soils mixed with both galestro and alberese marl stones. There is about 60 centimeters of topsoil and compacted clay below that. |

Tuscany | 1 | 95 (WA) | HK$2,535.00
Wine Advocate (95)The 2016 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione San Lorenzo is immediately more inky and balsamic in terms of aromas. As soon as you lift the wine to your nose, you get pretty tones of blackberry, cassis, rosemary essence, licorice and a touch of medicinal herb. I love when Sangiovese produces those elegant aromas, and for that reason, this wine stands tall among the three single-vineyard expressions from Marco Pallanti and Castello di Ama. It shows fiber, richness and lasting structure with a very well-managed quality of tannins. |

James Suckling (96)A tight, polished red with a very beautiful texture of firm, polished yet integrated tannins. Full-bodied with plenty of subtle dark-berry and chocolate character. Hints of walnuts, too. Flavorful finish. A little tight at the end, but already really delicious. Serious young Gran Selezione. Drink or hold. |

James Suckling (97)Perfumed and beautiful with flowers, cherries and raspberries. Forest fruits, too. Full-bodied with extremely fine tannins that run the length of the wine and are wonderfully integrated, spreading across the palate. Lasts for minutes. Better after 2025, but already fantastic. |

Wine Spectator (95)A complex bouquet of smoky cherry, plum, iron, leather and spice is enticing, while the supple texture is laden with fading fruit, spice, sanguine and tobacco flavors. Lively and long, it firms up on the finish, where the fruit and savory elements converge. Drink now through 2033. |

Wine Spectator (95)A dream Chianti Classico. Harmony in a glass. Glorious aromas of crushed berries, raspberry and mineral. Full-bodied, with superpolished tannins and a long, long finish of ripe fruit. Built for aging, but who can wait? Best after 2002. 680 cases made. |

Tuscany | 1 | 98 (WA) | HK$9,304.00
Wine Advocate (98)The 2016 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Bellavista sees fruit sourced from one of Castello di Ama's most beautiful vineyards with a wide exposures and plenty of sunshine. This wine shows profound complexity and a far-reaching bouquet that evolves slowly in the glass. Of these three single-vineyard Gran Selezione wines (Bellavista, La Casuccia and San Lorenzo), the Vigneto Bellavista is the most complete, but it is also the most linear and streamlined in terms of mouthfeel. I would bet on putting this wine aside in your cellar for a longer aging time. |

Vinous (98)The 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Bellavista marries Sangiovese and Malvasia Nera, a combination that works so well. The Bellavista is a powerful, vertical wine endowed with explosive and tremendous energy. Like all the top wines, it needs the better part of a decade to show all it's got. Gravel, smoke, leather, licorice and scorched earth. |

Tuscany | 13 | 97+ (VN) | HK$7,090.00
Vinous (97+)The 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Bellavista soars out of the glass with breathtaking intensity in all of its dimensions. The aromatics alone are striking, but that's just the beginning. Rich and sumptuous on the palate, the 2019 is the most refined Bellavista I have ever tasted, and I have tasted them all. A healthy dollop of Malvasia Nera adds savory notes and a good deal of grip, while clean mineral nuances extend the finish. The tannins are especially polished, which they rarely are in a young Bellavista. |

Tuscany | 1 | 95+ (VN) | HK$5,490.00
Vinous (95+)The 2015 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto La Casuccia is a powerful, explosive wine. Almost unnaturally so. In most vintages, the Casuccia is a sensual, racy wine. Not in 2015. Readers will have to be especially patient. Time in the glass brings out the wine's more floral side and a range of red-toned fruit. |

Wine Advocate (95)A blend of mostly Sangiovese with Cabernet Franc and Merlot in supporting roles, the Castello di Ama 2018 Haiku is a very interesting and somewhat unexpected expression that delivers big richness and lovely concentration, yet the fruit is never too ripe. In fact, it might be a tad underripe in this vintage that saw a few cooler weeks in early summer and some rain toward the end of the growing season. In all, it shows careful balance with an elegant, medium-bodied approach that is propped up by fresh and lively fruit. There are some Cabernet Franc-driven aromas of black olive tapenade. Like the other wines in this portfolio, Haiku is distinctively Mediterranean in personality. |
