Airy, cool and high-toned aromas include those of violet, lilac, rose petal, herbal tea and various wild red berry scents. There is fine volume, richness and energy to the equally broad-shouldered and mineral-driven flavors that also conclude in a moderately austere, compact and impressively long finale where the only reproach is a touch of warmth. Patience is once again advised as this is pretty tightly wound at present.HK$19,910.00 -

A similar concentrated yellow, with a well toasted nose on top of more crystalline fruit. Production is higher here, with 1x 500, 1 x 300 and 1 x 228-litre barrels, all new. The malolactic was just finishing so not yet sulphured. Perhaps the more reductive of the two whites. There is a fine mineral core which stretches fully across the palate. Generous plum with some ripe apple notes, before the return of the vanilla. An attractive savoury aftertaste. Drink from 2029-2036. Tasted Jul 2024.HK$7,310.00 -

The Cazetiers is the second premier cru introduced by Millemann with the 2022 vintage. There are firmer tannins than the Champeaux, but the fruit is more expressive. Luckily, Millemann has sourced enough for four barrels of this delicious wine. The grapes are fermented mostly as whole clusters, which are fermented on native yeasts and trod briefly just at the end of the fermentation. The finished wine is barreled down into new wood and aged over two winters before being racked into wine globes and bottled without filtration.HK$6,650.00 -

Pierre Millemann has made four barrels of his 2023 Cazetiers, all from Damy and using Tronçais wood, but with different toasting levels for each of them. One third whole bunch. A glowing dark purple. The bouquet is not yet particularly open but with a classic savoury nose, which I find typical of Gevrey. As with the Corton, there is a burst of energy which emerges on the palate. The tannins are at this stage relatively firm but with a wealth of dark, ripe yet still in place fruit alongside. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted Jul 2024.HK$6,580.00 -

(2021 was the first vintage). Here too there is just enough reduction to push the otherwise layered aromas of cool red and black cherry, plum, violet, lavender, herbal tea to the background The delicious, vibrant and more refined middle weight flavors possess a lovely mouthfeel as well as focused power that suffuses the youthfully austere and compact finale that delivers fine length. This is on the lighter side for Latricières, but even so, it’s one that is going to require at least moderate patience.HK$13,475.00 -

In 500 litre barrel, new by Damy from the Tronçais forest. Fullish yellow as no processing has been done. An attractive whiff of protective reduction mixed in with generous fruit. Indeed, the core on the palate is quite steely despite the colour and the is enough fruit concentration to manage the undoubted presence of oak which has a light toast on the vanilla. An extended finish for this embryonic white which will be racked to stainless steel in November.HK$4,825.00 -

Much like the Ile de Vergelesses, there is just enough reduction to blur the nuances of the fruit. The mouthfeel of the middleweight flavors is finer if less powerful than those of the Cazetiers while delivering solid length on the mineral-driven finish that displays excellent length on the well-balanced finale. This mildly austere effort should repay at least a decade of cellaring. In a word, lovely.HK$6,650.00 -

Medium red. Pungent red berry, floral and mineral aromas are reminiscent of pinot noir.
