The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, gentle and yet harmonious with gorgeous mulberry and red plum fruit, underneath which lies very fine mineralité. With great length to boot, this is an excellent Latricières from Rossignol-Trapet. Tasted September 2016. |

Vinous (94+)The 2017 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is very stubborn and closed on the nose, then opens wonderfully to offer red cherries, wild strawberry and pomegranate scents, but frustratingly, it ebbs away with further aeration. Very mercurial. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and fine depth and grip, delivering admirable precision on the finish. This is a very classy wine that should also amply repay mid to longer-term keeping. |

Wine Advocate (94)The 2011 Châteauneuf du Pape Omnia is a smoking blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre that was fermented with 100% whole-cluster and aged two years in barrels, on lees, and never racked. It offers up a gorgeous perfume of sweet black cherries, kirsch liqueur, garrigue, crushed flowers and toasted spice that gives way to full-bodied richness, solid mid-palate depth and building tannin that emerges on the finish. While this has the vintage's more supple nature, I love the depth and richness on the palate, and it will evolve gracefully for at least 10-12 years. Black cherry, forest floor, spring flowers, damp earth, and spice all flow to a medium-bodied, ethereally textured, seamless 2013 that opens up beautifully with time in the glass. Again, this is unquestionably a Burgundy lover’s Châteauneuf, and it shines more for its nuance, elegance, and complex more so than outright power and richness. With bright, yet integrated acidity and ample, sweet tannin, it’s a sensational 2013 and one of the best from the vintage. |
