Vinous (93)The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has a wonderful bouquet with mineral-driven Granny Smith apple aromas and a touch of lemon rind. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Fresh and focused, the oak is cleverly interwoven with a persistent finish. This is excellent, a classy Folatières that should age well in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (91)The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru is showing a veneer of new oak on the nose that currently covers the terroir and fruit expression. The palate is effervescent on entry, very lemony with a keen line of acidity, though the new oak is imperious and oppresses the finish, rendering this rather generic in style and below the bottle tasted a couple of years back. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. |
